Lovely park that's tucked away in a great neighborhood of North Durham. The trial through this park, passes a dog park, play ground and a shelter with bathrooms! Try it out.

I've loved coming here since I was a kid. Now I come with my husband and my son. Very shaded with a creek running through it. It has two play areas and plenty of space to throw a ball or frisbee. Also really nice for picnics and birthday parties. It's connected to ellerbee creek trail, so great place to stop if you're on the trail.

Good place to exercise, bring kids to play, walk your pets and connects to the American Tobacco Trail. So what are you waiting for? Get outside and enjoy.

Depends on whos at the park. Some parents don't watch their kids because their phones are more interesting to them so if ur a nice person u may become the park babysitter... I love kids so I don't mind but dang it's scary when children get abducted all parents have to do is put the phone down and play with their kids.....

The dog park here is excellent and always has a really good crowd of dogs. unfortunately it is incredibly muddy and stinky because it is right on a sanitary manhole

Lots of trails to walk your dog out just for your. It's safe, and right across from a church. I go here all the time

Cool little parks. I went with my nephews so we played in the playground and didn't really get to walk the trail.

Great dog park but don't go after a rain cause the field doesn't drain quickly.

Beautiful park with running/walking trail in a beautiful area of Durham. Great location for an afternoon out, a long run, or a picnic. Easy to park and easy access. Always people around and a safe atmosphere.

Nice little retreat tucked away in North Durham. The waters of Ellerbe Creek are crystal clear with fish visible swimming just below the surface. Very large, stately Loblolly Pines and Southern Red Oaks line the trails and provide shade.

Beautiful day, grounds good. Folks were very considerate of others around. Didn't see any gatherings as such, just folks enjoying being out.

Nice and wide park for families. They have a play area for kids 1-5 yrs old and a separate area for 5-12yrs old. They have benches and a cottage for parties.

I love that park. It's so nice and the people you meet are very friendly. Just watch out for dog poop. Because a lot of people bring their dogs and not often but it does happen, the owners do not get up the poop. There is also a dog park across the street as well..so it's a park that is for everyone.

Neighborhood park. A nice park to walk the dog around or in the dog park. Equipment and picnic areas are in good shape.

Northgate Park is a large, many acres park. A creek runs through it and there are woodlands and grassy areas. There is a nice children's area with playground equipment, a tennis court and ample parking. There is also a walking trail. You can birdwatch, exercise, or just read a book at one of the many benches. The Northgate Park Neighborhood Association has added flower beds and helps keep the grounds well maintained. It still functions as a bird sanctuary and Grey Herons and ducks can often be seen in the creek that runs through it. Also beaver can sometimes be spotted by their lodge in the creek.

Cool Playground for kids! Very modern playground equipment! Different ways of climbing on stuff compared to a “normal” playground. Lots of rope features to climb on, kinda layed out somewhere “obstacle course-like.” Most of the playground is not really made for ages 2.5 and under but, they have also a secondary playground at the park for the wee little tykes. This park has tons of open empty grassy area, a creek/stream that runs through the middle of the grounds, and a cool bridge that crosses over top of it. This park has HUGE trees in it too!

Heading South from Richmond with the hubs and our 3.5 year old, we swung by here. My son and I rode the trails, and played at the playground (all total 10 min.) as Daddy moved things into the cab from the truck bed before the rain started. The playground is awesome for 3-12 year olds and had a nifty hand cycle installment in addition to a lot of climbing apparatuses. A bit advanced for youngers, though I saw a separate area with infant swings. If I lived here, I would definitely frequent this park!
