Although I was only making a small purchase after an evening bible study in the middle of the week after 9pm at night for non-alcoholic beverages, the grocery chain Food Lion had multiple lanes available, cheerful cashiers, and visible policemen/cars in their parking lot which ensures customers they are both appreciated and their safety is important. If in the area again, I would return and encourage family and friends to shop here.

Always a joy to search & find random art materials, craft supplies, and decor items. Plus their thrift shop (same parking lot) always has pleasant surprises in their nooks & crannies. Highly recommended experience all around!

I don't really like this shopping center. It's a bit derelict and the area leaves a lot to be desired. The main anchor store, Food Lion, is a decent grocery store, but they make no attempt to keep the parking lot in good condition. It's also not easy to get into - the architectural design of the center was poorly designed. They also allow a lot of loitering in the parking lot, which encourages gang activity and leaves legitimate shoppers feeling uncomfortable. More than once I've been approached by beggars who comment things like "what a nice car you have" and how easily it could be harmed but if I "throw a couple of dollars our way we will keep it safe." The thing is, if they just asked for help, I would've happily and freely given them money - I keep a few dollars in my pocket for just such an occasion. But protection tax? Like in a mob movie? This is why I stopped frequenting this shopping center and started going to a more upscale one where I'm less likely to be threatened. And as always with shopping centers like these, there are never enough handicap spots.

I've been shopping here since April 2018. At one point stores began to open up in this area but towards the end of the year a few closed or relocated. We need more business at the Lakewood Shopping Center ... Too many people not enough stores.

I really enjoy coming to the Scrap Exchange thrift store in it's new place. Plenty of free parking. Bargains for everyone. Arranged nicely and clean inside. Large selection of donated items. Friendly staff.

Go. Go. Go. Go. Go! A pleasure land of stuff for creative work and inspiration in one store, AND clothes and household goods/antiques in another! Rock bottom prices and greater quantity than you can imagine! All this as a great non-profit helping the community!

There's a music venue called Rythms Live Music Hall with exceptional owners (Victor and Gerri Graham), outstanding staff, marvelous caterers and magnificent artists! Kick back and be entertained while enjoying either a alcoholic or non alcoholic beverage!

Nothing upscale about Lakewood and dining options are limited. The best things are The Scrap Exchange and its associated Thrift Shop. They're great and a lot of fun to go through.

Not the shopping center, one of my best friends own Rhythms Live Music Hall in the shopping center on the end of the center. Comedy Shows & Professional Recording Artists come through his venue. Ask For Victor Graham

It is a bit run down but it is trying to revive itself. Food Lion prices have risen terribly due to gentrification. That Food Lion is definitely capitalizing on the yuppification of this neighborhood. They won't even provide quarters to the community where there are few laundry options.

I like the shopping center. I frequently stop by several stores. The beauty supply, family dollar, and several fast food spots. I am sad Kroger is no longer there.

The Dollar store doesn't let you come in with your own purse or anything, if you do they will take it from you and leave it in the front, which really isn't safe at all, either.

I went to the food giveaway that is every Wednesday from I think 11:30 to 1:30 but it might be 12 to 1:30 not quite sure. It was at the Catholic Charities Community Food Bank, and it was such a blessing! And this time of need, the food bank in Lakewood shopping center treats everyone like family, and feeds families with more than just a can. The love and kindness and Community were completely apparent and everything from fresh collard greens to Capri Suns, Nathan's Hot Dogs and everything in between thank you God! It's hard right now but the Community Food Bank at Lakewood makes it a little easier!
