I love this hotel, where I sheltered from Hurricane Florence. This time, the toilet in my room wouldn't stop running; it was fixed within an hour of my call. (This is an aging property; the maintenance crew are very busy and helpful.) My one complaint, and it's a big one, is the breakfast room. Hilton seems to neglect its older properties; the furniture was mismatched and stained. But worst was the lack of staffing (two harried workers trying to keep up with a massive crowd). When I went down for breakfast on Sunday morning, there were no knives or forks (I had to wait through two refills because faster people ran in front of me); not a banana in sight; no plates; and various food items constantly running out and not being refilled on a timely basis. (The coffee was fabulous, but only CoffeeMate to lighten it.) As I dared to peek into the kitchen, I saw old, battered equipment and two people working very hard to keep up with an unmanageable number of guests. Their distress -- they were clearly doing the best they could with very limited resources -- was hard to witness. Hilton should do better by their staff and their property. And in fairness, I agree that many hotel guests these days do become piggish in the "free" breakfast room, taking bags of food items away with them -- nothing I can do about that except VRBO. The doormat photo pretty much says it all.

Overall a good value! Work booked me here for 2 months and it was clean without any major concerns. My CC and my company were double charged, but getting that resolved wasn’t too much of a feat. The water is also extremely soft. In the end, I wouldn’t hesitate stating here again.

It is our go to place to stay when we are in the Durham/ Chapel Hill area. Friendly and helpful staff. Well stocked rooms with everything you need in the kitchenettes.

Front house: I did make a reservation 2 months in advance. When it came time to check in, I wasn't told about the room change until I mentioned it. At one point, I was asked why I even wanted the room? And I was assured that the balcony didn't mean much... well, 3 kids in one space; every foot counts! I shouldn't even have to explain. Blame was placed from one person to the next, which is unprofessional and extremely frustrating. Namely, because I was told I would be put in the room I request 2 months ago for 3 days until I was finally told. Its not happening. The only accommodation was one night fee taken from my 7 night stay. Everyone else: Kicthen staff was excellent, food was pretty good! Saved alot of time with my family being able to eat in house. Our rooms were cleaned so well for us which was awesome! We were taken care of which!!! Helped me relax for my first vacation! Pool was a great treat, normally there weren't many people in there and it was constantly cleaned of flowers and debris. Parking was decent if u figure which room and door to enter. The hotel was in reach of a bunch of restaurants and shopping to fill up the fridge. I only saw one roach. Where I live there aren't any so I panicked.

We stayed at this hotel twice in the past 2 weeks, 3 days each for a business trip the week of 6/10 & 6/17. The lobby has an odor and needs a good cleaning and updated furniture. Expect a strong weed smell in hallways, though that didn't bother us. The rugs were clean but old. Our room was VERY clean including beds, kitchen, linens, dishes etc. Needs updating. We saw NO bugs of any sort. The decor and furniture is outdated. The beds were firm but comfortable. Front desk staff were sometimes elsewhere, either helping in the kitchen or tending to something else...so, you may have to wait or search for one. The breakfast buffet was amazing! We looked forward to this every morning, especially the pulled pork and chicken, soft taco fixings and breakfast potatoes. Staff replenished food throughout the service. The evening appetizers (Monday to Wednesday) were a hit or miss and the free wine on Wednesdays is "meh". The pool needed skimming and it was a bit cloudy. We didn't use it because of that. There was a mix-up with our first stay and the front desk clerk did nothing to resolve it. At checkout, Imani made sure this would not happen again with our second stay, the following week. So, shout out to "Imani" because she went above and beyond to make our stay was enjoyable, always checking in via text. She was bouncing between the front desk and kitchen. We appreciate you! Not sure if we would stay here again but the location was very convenient.
