I had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Durham. The complimentary breakfast buffet offered a great variety of fresh and tasty options each morning. The hotel staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. I was especially impressed with the housekeeping team, who did an excellent job keeping my room clean and comfortable throughout my stay. The hotel was well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the Durham area. -
Overall we had a nice 1 night stay at this location. The staff is very friendly & helpful. I called in advance & we were able to get an early check-in which was really appreciated after a long road trip (they had 1 early room left 🥳)! Our room was clean & we slept good (mattress was a bit hard & pillows really soft-fyi). However, the room could use some updates (mirror/lighting setup in the bathroom is really outdated since now most hotels I've recently stayed in have the bright LED mirrors so it was difficult to see how to put my makeup on. And the shower head was very old, like you'd see in an older home bathroom just like the light/mirror set up. The entire shower set up needs updating also. The 2 tiny triangle shelves were too small to hold anything & so low to the ground so a full bathroom makeover would make the room a 10/10. Honorable mention for the breakfast, it was delicious & plentiful. That's the BEST waffle I've had in a long time! With these things shared, we'd stay again. Location/price was right & it was clean. -
I cannot PRAISE this Hampton Inn enough. I travel a lot for work and I stay in a lot of Hampton Inns. Due to their proximity to a lot of my job sites as well as the expected comfort etc. Recently I've had a couple poor experiences and I was rather nervous coming into Durham after multiple delays to my flight getting in far past 2:00 in the morning.
The gentleman at the front desk was warm and welcoming quickly. Got me my room key after I had checked myself in on the app and handed me two water bottles so I could quickly get on my way to bed. The hotel was very clean, very well, put together bright and welcoming. The room was neat, clean, fully stocked. I know this seems like the bare minimum but when I say I had poor experiences, I had poor experiences at previous locations including missing shampoo bottles, dirty showers, etc.
This location wasn't just clean. It was immaculate. They have extremely modern TVs that you can stream your own streaming channels from such as Disney plus and Netflix. The room's air conditioner and heaters work extremely well. The beds are comfortable but more so if you like firm beds like myself. But again comfortable the bedding is clean and neat. The breakfast In the morning was your classic Hampton Inn breakfast but yet again it was presented in a very clean well-presented format. The associates were present, very welcoming, greeted everybody and were constantly cleaning behind guests. Due to a company error I actually ended up having to leave this reservation after only one night and moving to a different Hotel closer to work. The hotel management and front desk staff were extremely easy to work with. Extremely polite and understanding and treated me with respect and kindness along the way of the misunderstanding. Gwen at the front desk in particular was extremely kind and efficient and proficient at her work.
If I am ever in the Durham area again, I will absolutely choose to stay at this location, whether it is for work or personal matters. -
This is not a reflection on expedia, where I booked but Hampton Inn is a partner so I sadly share this issue about a place I have stayed for YEARS. I have been using this same location for almost 10 years staying sometimes weeks at a time visiting sick family. The hotel and staff have always been amazing and I frequently stay at Hampton Inn because of the previous experience. I was beyond disappointed this time that they were charging me $10/night for parking in basically a public open lot. I'm not even sure how they know what car belongs in the lot since they never even took my vehicle information upon registration. Make things worst there is no previous mention of the added charges anywhere prior to booking on expedia, even though it appears on the main business site. This is enough to lose this long time customer...check my bookings over the years! I hope this $10 is worth the loss of future business. Just to be clear....the staff and facilities are great, its not a reflection on them. Charging guest for nothing is the worst business model ! -
I suggested this Inn toa friend. I'm a Hilton honors member. On the date of June 11 2026 we had went out for awhile upon return back to the room @ 3:50 in the evening our room had not been cleaned no clean anything. I had requested extra linen. We went back down to the lobby waited for & hour went back to the room, all that was done bed made up no extra linen, bathroom wasn't clean. The blanket holder was still on the floor. I'm very dissapointed that this was done. I really believe the person I requested this hotel to should be given a complimentary room.
