I had a great experience getting a custom engagement ring here. (also she said yes!)
Lilla walked me through the whole process and Kai is an incredible and thoughtful designer. They made a potentially stressful experience very fun and exciting. We will definitely be coming back for our wedding bands! (Same if I have to get another engagement ring, but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that) -
My fiancé and I recently had a custom engagement ring designed at Hamilton Hill, using his grandmother’s original stones but in a new setting. Everyone at Hamilton Hill was so welcoming and kind, it was truly a joy to work with them! Especially sitting down with goldsmith Ken, he made our exact dreams come true with this ring as initially we weren’t sure if all the stones could be incorporated but he made it happen. We are thrilled with the result, and they made sure the ring was perfect, including resizing it as necessary. They were accommodating at every step. I would recommend walking in and talking to them if you are local and looking for a ring or a custom piece!

So excellent! They resized and fixed the setting on my engagement ring and when I got it back, it truly exceeded my expectations. The diamond somehow looks brighter and larger than when I left it with them, and it fits me perfectly. Customer service was 10/10 with every encounter (I went back several times before deciding to resize and repair), and staff was welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. Prices were fair and transparent, and the craftsmanship was outstanding. I will be returning for all future jewelry needs.

Cannot recommend Hamilton Hill enough. Kai and Ken did such a great job consulting with us and designing my ring! As an LGBT couple, my fiancée and I felt heard, safe, welcomed, and valued every step of the way, which was a priority for us in finding a jeweler. Kai and Ken TRULY went above and beyond in making a ring beyond my wildest dreams. We can't wait to come back for wedding bands and can't thank Hamilton Hill enough!

I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Hamilton Hill and ultimately lost confidence in them.
My engagement ring and wedding band are family heirlooms inherited from my husband’s grandmother, who wore them for over 50 years. After recently noticing a chip in the center stone, I brought the ring to Hamilton Hill for inspection. I was told the diamond was not only chipped, but cracked all the way through and unsafe to wear. Given the sentimental value of the ring, this was extremely upsetting.
During my in person visit, the owner, Sarah, told me: “I am glad you are saying you do not know what you did to damage it, rather than claiming you did not do anything, because clearly you did do something to damage the stone.” I found this unnecessarily insensitive given the situation, however, I was still willing to proceed with the repair.
I was told to reach back out via text in mid-May because their repair shop was busy. In the meantime, I acquired a replacement stone. When I later contacted the goldsmith, Ken, he told me to drop off the ring and said he would likely get to it at the end of June, which was completely fine with me. I asked more about the process and if I would get a chance to talk with him before repairs were made and Ken instructed me to call the store to schedule an appointment with him. When I called the next day, I was put directly on the phone with him and the interaction was extremely unprofessional. He told me, “I was hoping you would read between the lines that I do not have any time for this, clearly you missed that,” before ending the call with, “I would appreciate the space, thanks.”
At that point, I decided to take my business elsewhere. To Sarah’s credit, she later responded kindly and took accountability, which I do appreciate.
What prompted me to write this review was what happened next. I brought the ring to another jeweler, where six experts independently reassessed the diamond. All agreed that the stone was not cracked all the way through and was not at unusual risk of falling out of the setting. Their goldsmith said I could go my whole life without having an issue as the diamond is stable in its setting, even with the chip and small crack. Since my visit to Hamilton Hill in April, I had avoided wearing my rings entirely based on the information I was given. I feel completely misled.
I understand that experts can have differing opinions, but this experience caused unnecessary stress surrounding an irreplaceable family heirloom. I hope this feedback encourages more professionalism, empathy, and care in how customers are treated.
