Who wouldn’t want to enjoy a tasty meal in an old gas station turned hip Southern eatery? GRUB Durham owners Stacey Poston and Wendy Woods combined their passion for community with their love and experience in the restaurant industry to create this full-service restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and catering. With both a patio and rooftop bar, they have plenty of comfortable outdoor seating options.

My go to breakfast spot since moving to Durham in 2019! Wendy her staff are so welcoming. Grub has a great laid-back atmosphere and amazing food. Pauli's pimento has been a recent favorite.

Food was so good and at a great price! We got hot chocolates, the west end grain bowl, chicken bacon biscuit, and house made chips. So well made and will definitely come back.

Based on my rating, you can tell I did not care for the food. I see they have thousands that rate them very highly, and I hear their catering service has a great reputation. I found the food less than average, and the presentation made it seem even less. The grit bowl was served in a paper bowl and the coffee in a paper cup. I had a hard time figuring out how to get water. You have to order prior to setting down. You are given tip options prior to getting your food or even setting down. I doubt I will return.

Nice little restaurant, good food with reasonable prices. Salads were delicious. Not a ton of inside seating but they have a large patio. Looks like they do a lot of carry out. There’s no tap water though, have to pay for bottled.

Great restaurant! I have eaten in and also gotten large catering orders for pick up and the experience is always great. They are very nice. The restaurant can get busy but lots of people do take out so it's not too hard to find an open table. For dine in and take out you order at the front and then if you are dining in they bring your food to you.

Hey ya'll 😘 went to the GRUB Durham today. The customer service was awesome! The atmosphere nostalgic! My food (egg salad sandwich with homemade chips) was ok...the sandwich had a good consistency and was very pretty, but not very flavourful. I still enjoyed the meal though. (When l got there at 5 the parking lot was practically empty but filled up rather quickly. The place wasn't full when l left but there were many people there.) I'm glad l gave GRUB a try.

Cool concept and fun design. Great potential. Loved the atmosphere. I'm not a fan of order then sit and wait for what clearly is a sit and be served establishment. Very poor execution here. It's also lengthy when many people are in line. It's simply not necessary and bad from a service standpoint. However, once past that we got to choose our table and the food was brought to us, albeit without silverware nor condiments. Also, I'm not sure why they choose to have some really funky hours. I'm mean, why close in between lunch and dinner on a Saturday or Sunday when people want to watch sports or hop in for a quick bite while running around? And close at 7p? That's just losing potential $$$ on both. Regarding the most important part, the food. We had a party of 5, a couple burgers, chick sand and the brisket. All were outstanding. I only took a pic of mine but food wise you will not be disappointed. It's really too bad the rest of the joint wasn't as on part with the food.
