I haven’t played pool in years but wanted to stop by for a beer and the “Bull Durham” ambience. The environment was everything I hoped for, good vibes, welcoming and lots of character. I planned on staying only a few minutes but found myself not wanting to leave. They don’t make places like this anymore.

The tables are simultaneously high quality, well maintained, and full of history. There’s an unbeatable beer selection and the knowledge behind the bar to find you something you’ll enjoy. And yet, the best part of the green room is the atmosphere that the owner and staff have meticulously maintained for decades. Everyone’s welcome at the green room as long as you treat the other patrons and the equipment with respect; it’s a special place.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Durham.
Didn't drink a lot. Didn't play pool at all, but they had a lovely pinball machine that I loved playing on.

First visit ...pretty much a simple place. Interesting environment. Good but with character with the dated decor very nostalgic & I'm sure filled with history. Great if you have a bunch with you to share a few rounds of pool.
Needs food though.

Nice hole-in-the-wall pool room/small bar vibe, which is exactly what you want from here. Laid back. The original featured in Bull Durham was across the street. Moved in the 1990s but has the same pool tables, lights, etc. I'll be back.

Chilliest bar, best/worse movies, tons of beer options, and a super polite staff.

The Green Room is a Durham institution. It's even got a pivotal scene in the famed Bull Durham. Today the Green Room is basically unchanged since the 1980s baseball classic was made, save an improved beer list and a few more floor tiles wearing away. They offer billiards, darts, fußball and around a hundred beers to try. The place is great for activities or conversation. It has the feel of a townie dive, but has a more diverse crowd than the aforementioned dives. The ownership is also really friendly and dedicated to keeping this local institution going.
It would have gotten five stars, but there's some dust that I think has been here since Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins graced the building.
