Awesome spot for coffee or smoothie. The barista Raymond is a great guy. Our go to spot.

Love this place! Easily some of the best espresso in Durham, and an excellent place to hang out with friends or do work. Plus I love a coffee shop with delicious lunch options 🤤

Kind staff, authentic decor and coffee experience! What a fun and special place to take friends! Order the Jebana Coffee and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a cafe in Ethiopia!

First time here! Very dog friendly, thank goodness!!! Great staff/owner. Just had coffees but will be back for food. Well appointed, clean, wonderful collection of local art. Patio was beautiful. Hidden Gem!

What a gem!!! Love the original Goorsha, so lovely to be able to get a Gojo fix during the day. Awesome covered outdoor seating area in the back. Would stay there all day if I could!

Nice cafe with cute decor. The outdoor space in the back is almost unusable due to the summer heat. Maybe it would be nice in the winter. I think they lack some greenery. It is a bit hard to find parking in the area. The coffee is ok.

The selection of Ethio-American inspired eats are absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD. You already know the coffee is delicious! The atmosphere is so delightful & welcoming, please enjoy your food on the covered patio, it’s a great oasis in the heart of DT Durham! Not to mention, the wonderfully kind owner & staff! Customer for life!

Absolutely love this coffee shop! The coffee, paninis, and bowls are delicious. Great atmosphere for a lunch date, plenty of outlets to bring your laptop and get some work done. The owner and staff are so wonderful. Highly recommend!

Really cozy cafe with tons of covered outdoor seating. The panini are incredible and a great price for how much food you get. Also very interesting to have Ethiopian flavors in a sandwich, it's like nothing else I've ever had. Will definitely come back for the Ethiopian coffee ceremony sometime!

The injera bowl is my favorite! The coffee and pastries are great as well. A great place to sit just for the atmosphere and decor. They also have outdoor seating.

A heretofore hidden gem! After being told about this small-yet-spacious cafe a month ago, I've made a few visits, and each time I have been very impressed. As others have noted, the interior decor is beautiful, the patio is perfect for these 'socially-distant-days,' and the food/coffee offerings are the same caliber as its close relative, Goorsha. Very excited to see this cafe up and running despite the setbacks of the past year.

I am obsessed with this place, already planning my next visit. The bagel sandwich was incredible and the man working was so nice! The patio is huge so it's great for social distancing and doggie dates!

Can't believe I'm just now finding out about Gojo. This place is an absolute gem of a cafe in the downtown Durham area. I didn't get the coffee but got a smoothie which was delicious. Customer service was also excellent and they have a huge patio for seating, in addition to the beautifully-decorated interior seating space. This certainly won't be my last visit and I'm looking forward to trying some of their other menu items and pastries as well.

I was really impressed with this place when I went with my brother recently. It's a really warm and cozy space with delicious panninis! I got the chicken panini with Ethiopian hot sauce and pesto. It was fantastic. The owner is extremely friendly and accommodating. Great experience.

My wife and I visited Gojo and had an amazing time! The paninis and traditional Ethiopian coffee were absolutely delicious, and both the inside and outside provide a great ambience. Additionally, the owner was extremely warm and took the time to chat with us about the creativity that goes into the dishes, as well as about his future plans for Gojo. We'll certainly be coming back!

I went to the GoJo on a lunch date and it was perfect! The food was amazing, very flavorful and healthy. I also had a Vanilla Latte which gave me the energy boost I needed for the rest of the day. The space is very beautiful and relaxing. The owner was extremely friendly and mentioned future plans for the space. Very impressed and super excited to discover this hidden gem.

We walked to Gojo this morning for coffee and a bite, what a great place!! My latte was VERY good and I can’t wait to come to Gojo with a book and linger with friends when the world opens again- the cafe and their outdoor patio at the back are going to be amazing when the weather warms up. I had the avocado and cheese panini for breakfast and it was exceptional. I’m looking forward to the next time we go back (which will be soon!)

This is my new favorite spot in Durham. The drip (the measure by which I judge all coffee shops) was delicious—nutty, smooth, not too acidic. I feel this is underrated, but they also have one of the most impressive collections of tea that I’ve seen around. The atmosphere, and free WiFi, are perfect for working for several hours. I would definitely come back with a friend just for the food, which sounds like a lighter version of the Ethiopian food served by Goorsha that I already know I love.

My favorite breakfast spot in Durham! Gojo is a cafe around the corner from Goorsha (same owners). The cafe offers breakfast and lunch items with really great Ethiopian takes along with delicious coffee. I’m partial to the the Itswat: mushroom, avocado, and the spicy Ethiopian awaze sauce. Side note: one of the best covered patios in the area!

By day, a coffee shop with an Ethiopian twist. Such a serene little place.

Nice vibe here. Great music, Afro beats and reggae. The only problem is the service, hard to get a drink or food or a hookah.
