Amazing food and drinks in a beautiful and convenient location - with daily dinner specials! And they have an adorable kitty that hangs around! Honestly a go-to place for me and they are very dog friendly.

Nice little place! Food is varied and tasty and staff is fun and enthusiastic. Lots of local beers and solid priced specials.

I've stopped in here several times and I have always been pleasantly greeted. I particularly like the varied specials both for food and drinks they have. Of the regular menu, my favorite is the pimento grilled cheese. It's spectacularly buttery and gooey.

I went here with some friends on a Sunday night and was let down by a few things. The servers seemed to be spread thinly across the tables so it took quite a bit to get drinks and refills. I got the fish tacos which were quite good! I also got a side of mac and cheese (I love trying mac and cheese from different places). It was super dry and too crusted with bread crumbs.

Delicious little spot known as cocoa cinnamon. The Drinks are so unique and I highly recommend the Venus or the pour over iced coffee. They grind it fresh.

Nice atmosphere inside and in the garden. Staff was very helpful. We had the Sunday buffet that has ample food but it was a little heavy for my taste. Bacon undercooked and sausage too well done. The bloody Mary bar was loads of fun with veges to customize your drink. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because parking is limited and sometimes you have to park blocks away and walk to restaurant.

I'm here every week following the Run Durham run club on Wednesdays. The bar tenders are super nice and attentive. The food menu is diverse, but tasty, even if you're only stopping for a snack.

One of my favorite eating establishments. Any restaurant that is dog friendly is good in my book and these people like dogs. I love their outdoor seating year round.

We when on a Sunday afternoon. The menu was small but had enough variety. Got the fried chicken plate and the tamales plate. The fried chicken plate came with three pieces of boneless fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and collard greens. The fried Chicken tasted decent but I was hoping for some bone-in pieces of chicken. Food was ok, nothing special but kinda pricey.

Went for their Sunday brunch on a whim. It was busy but we quickly found a bar seat and helped ourselves to the variety of food. Eggs, potatoes, meats, biscuits and gravy, fruit, dessert, plus more, and non alcoholic drinks for $12.90! It was a steal for brunch.

The outside dining at Geer Street Garden is pretty and secluded. It doesn't feel like you are surrounded by busy streets. I love the atmosphere here. The wait staff was helpful, until you pay. Then you won't see them again. My Arugala Fried Chicken salad was a little boring. Still the experience was good. I will try something else next time.

Lunch time was busy. Food was delicious. Had a salad and a smile. Wait staff was pleasant. Ate outside. Pet friendly at least outside.

Always a $3 beer special.Good food. However I strongly suggest the self service, as the service is absolutely forgettable. Forget about ever getting your drinks topped off. Went for lunch today, and sure enough, never saw the waiter again. I suggest eating at the bar

Decent food and friendly service. The outdoor patio can accommodate a large number of people. The menu friends toward more meat. I would have enjoyed more selection of vegetarian plates. The beer list is varied though not extensive.

I don't know how we've missed this hidden gem!We came since it was listed as a dog friendly spot. They sat us outside and brought out a water bowl for the pup! The outdoor and porch dining is picturesque, with plants and twinkle lights. All of the staff were really friendly. The food was quick and good, with lots of toppings on the salad. We're looking forward to coming back for Sunday brunch!

Geer Street Garden is one of my favorite lunch go-to spots in downtown Durham. I think Geer Street Garden has some of the best fish tacos in Durham. Their burger and sweet potato tots were also exceptionally good. I love that they have ample outside seating (covered porch and uncovered).

Great back patio, good but limited menu. If you inquire about a veggie patty alternative, their answer will be the same as it has been for the last couple years: "we're working on one but haven't gotten it right yet." Maybe another year or two will do the trick?

Geer St garden has been one of my favorite restaurants in the triangle since I moved here in 2012, and it gets better each year! Their dishes always feature local ingredients and their vegetarian options are unbelievably satisfying and creative. The vibe is always good, the art is local, and the place does generous things for the community as well!

My husband and I were Thursday night regulars before the pandemic. We love Dre’ and one of the other waitstaff with short hair, they were awesome. We have been to Geer Street Garden a few times in 2020 & 2021, but not again…at least to drink. The food is awesome, but the service is slow and clumsy. Thank God we ordered draft beers. The older bartender is nasty. He uses his dirty hands to handle food. While we were there, I observed him pick a scab on his arm, his eyes, his nose, scratch his back, run his hands through his hair all never washing his hands. He made muddled blueberry drinks with mint that looked amazing but were all adulterated with his dirty hands. It was disgusting. I stared at him hoping he would get the message. He just stared back and continued. He drank during the entire time we were there. He got pretty sauced. We are not going back there. I don’t want to think about the kitchen staff whom we couldn’t see.

Some portions are small, some are normal. Good cocktails and I recommend the sweet potato tots. Very cute outside with picnic tables and string lights. They have outdoor heaters so it should be nice as it gets colder too.

This place was a great surprise. We stopped by with friends and had a great time. The staff was great and even though they do not allow inside seating, they allowed us to go inside as it started raining (and we had already ordered or food) since there was no seats available outside. I highly recommed this spot.

Really delicious. I got the duck confit and cleaned my plate. Every part of it was obviously hand crafted and assembled to compliment the flavors. The duck was perfect. The potatoes were crisp on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The greens were so fresh and had a lovely crunch with a light honey mustard vinegarette dressing. Truly a treat!

The food was awesome. The service was slow and uninformative. We arrived. We sat down and were given water. We sat for 15-20min. Then I overheard the table next to us ask when they would get waited on. The waiter mentioned something about a QR code on the placard in the table. So I asked the waiter to confirm about what I had heard. So I took out my phone and used my camera app to scan the QR code. A bar showed up with the name of the restaurant. From there was the menu.I had to confirm with a waitress that if it’s a one check situation then only one phone should be used. There were no instructions for any of this. If I had not overheard the other table we would have waited even longer. Also, the appetizer came with our meal.We probably won’t return, even though the food was great.

Outdoor seating is pleasant. Food is consistently good and draft beer generally offers a nice variety. Four stars instead of five because menu is limited and it's pricey. Two sandwiches, two draft beers, and two coffees totaled $46. With the tip added, I felt like my pocket had been squeezed a bit too much. But, this seems to be the going trend in Durham.

We just had fantastic take-out! Don't sleep on the specials. I can't say enough good things about the winter vegetable plate that I just devoured. There were two crispy butternut squash risotto cakes, roasted fennel (yum!), rainbow chard, and beans with carrots. It was all ridiculously flavorful. And my husband really enjoyed his fried chicken too. Gold stars. A+.

The food was delicious. I had the fried chicken arugula salad. My friend and I shared the most amazing frech fries and they have a whole list of delectable sauces to go with them. This place is serious about staying safe during the pandemic and they are equally serious about their food.

I have been here a few times and always really enjoyed it. They have a great outdoor space for social distance dining, and all the ordering is online so it's super easy. We got the tofu banh mi and fish tacos + a few beers and they were very good. We felt like the menu was just slightly overpriced, but they are a small restaurant and prices were pretty comparable to similar places in Durham. We will definitely be back!

After a water main break prevented our visit a couple of weeks ago, four of us enjoyed a late lunch outside following Centerfest. Nice selection of beer and ciders; I recommend the Flat Rock Blackberry cider. The pimento cheese with crostini was a tasty appetizer, plenty for four of us.

We came early for dinner. Ordered The "Pile" of fried, cheese and fried children. We followed up with Fried Chicken and waffle, Reuben, Turkey club, fish tacos, fried green tomatoes and grilled cheese with fries for a party of six. Took 3 full meals home and would happily do so again. Recommended.

Pricey, but expected for the area. Nothing too bad, nothing too great. Their Reuben was sub-par as a Reuben, much more like a standard meat or ham sandwich. Non-distinct ambiance in both good and bad ways. Nothing to scare you off, but nothing to really draw you in either. Wait staff weren't so friendly that I felt I needed to engage with them too much, which I can appreciate, or unfriendly enough to say I was offended or put off. Probably an excellent place to hold a casual business meeting or a picky first date.

One of my favorite places to eat in Durham. Salads are delicious with the perfect veggie to protein ratio. The fried chicken is crispy yet juicy. Great deviled eggs! Also, try The Pile and get the curry mayo dipping sauce.

Five of us for lunch on a sunny but chilly day. Sat outside and was super comfortable - they had heaters and good wind blockers. Service was fast, professional, attentive and funny. The Rubin was 13/10 for sure! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. UPDATE: Went back on 4/26/2022 for lunch.. it's Chinese Week and you gotta order the noodles... they were amazing!

Great restaurant. We ate outdoors on the picnic benches, which may not be the most comfortable for anyone with back issues. They do have indoor seating available. The food was great. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was cooked just as I liked it with great flavor. I'll admit, when I saw my friends fried chicken dishes served, the chicken looked like it had been overcooked. But after trying some, it was tender and delicious. We all enjoyed everything we got and would definitely come back. I know I'm going to get that fried chicken plate the next time! And thanks to our friendly server Kayla who made sure we were satisfied with our food and was attentive throughout our meal.

This is one of our favorite date spots in Durham. My wife and I try to make our way to Geer Street Garden at least once every couple of weeks; we sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and eat A LOT. It is perfect. The atmosphere is lovely, it feels like a family owned place where everyone cares. The bartenders are amazing (shout out to Jen!) and the food is exactly what it should be for this type of location. Delicious, fresh, local and seasonally inspired dishes without being unnecessarily fancy or expensive. We are big fans of their chicken wings (in my opinion the best in Durham), and love that they have a specials menu that changes often and keeps us coming back to see what fun new dishes they are offering that week.

One order of the pile is enough of a meal into itself for two people. Excellent choice to have when you have been out drinking for a while and need a bite to eat. Will have to come back again. I also had the gauspacho soup and that too was amazing.

Good food and great service. Been here twice for retirement lunch for coworkers and they've done a great job handling our big table. The Pile was good. Fried chicken, fries, cheese, gravy. Comfort food on a plate. My friend said her burger was somewhat underwhelming.
