Ate lunch here with a friend for the first time wow the food is delicious! I had the chicken sandwich with red peppers and lettuce. I bought some desserts to go which were fantastic. The mixed berry pie is so so good and the crust is perfect. Will definitely be back! I love the market, the people and the whole vibe. It’s a one of a kind place in Durham and a gem. Parking could be troublesome but there is a good-sized lot and some street parking spots.

Mixed feelings on this place because I really love the ambiance and the vibes but it was super chaotic over a weekend lunch rush. Not really clear where to go, how to order, or how to pay. But the food was good, they have a lot of options, and it was very cute.

2/22/2023 lunch: we ordered the daily omelet special (which today was salmon with onion) and the Italian grinder. Both were very good! We ate outside since it was a beautiful day. Our food came out pretty fast. The cheesy grits were excellent! I read some of the prior reviews and it is a bit confusing as to where to order since it’s not obvious (order in the area near the menu boards). The food is brought out to you. Check out their bakery ‘specials’ rack near the cash register. Today, we bought the herb biscuits (4 for $6).

Stopped in for brunch Sunday 11 after we found out the BBQ place we wanted to check out nearby was closed on Sundays. But I'm glad we found Foster's. It's a cute little spot that offers brunch plates, sandwiches, and salads. You order at the counter, find a table, and they'll bring the food to you. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but it was too cold to sit outside, so we did have to lurk a little to nab an indoor table. Luckily, we didn't have to wait too long. I had the BLT and it was nice and light somehow, despite it being a bacon sandwich. Great option if you are looking for a quick and casual sit-down brunch.

Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Food was so fresh! The atmosphere was very relaxing. Loved the feel of a corner store complete with jams, wines, yummy treats. Whenever we are out this way we will definitely be back❤️

Excellent brunch spot with a great menu and reasonable prices. Food is ready quick despite how busy they can get on the weekends. Plenty of parking and seating (indoor and outdoor). My wife is already wanting to come back tomorrow!

I have not visited Foster's in Raleigh, NC for more then a decade . So when a travel nursing assignment in Durham , NC came up I jumped at the chance. To find out there's a Foster's in Durham was a real bonus. They did not fail to deliver. I use to buy loads of bakery items when I visited to bring it back with me to WV then. My number one pick is still their Blueberry scones and cheese and spinach biscuits with the beef stew. I tried their breakfast Burrito . I opted fir it because it was meatless . It was very filling abdcradty breakfadt selection decided a takeaway since this was my first time . They are organic and vegan ftiendly. . Its situated next to the German bakery and restaurant Gulghupf . But Foster's was still as wholesome good All American country flair. Very attentive and friendly staff and you will be spoilt for choices. I made a stopover for a scone and coffee but ended up with close to $40 worth if bakery items. Lots of oarking that extend right to the back and lots of seating . Thumbs up. !

I have been to Fosters just a couple of times because it's quite a trek from where I live. But when I do go, I always come away feeling I should go more often! Such a great spot for breakfast and lunch! The salads and sandwiches are fresh and flavorful and there are so many options to choose from! The whole place has a no fuss homey feel to it. Would go back without thinking twice! Great for vegans and vegetarians!

Fabulous variety and quality of down home southern specialties. Not too crowded for Sunday brunch!

Such a nice rustic place to chill out with friends. I especially like their coffee and the southern style breakfast

There are a few classic fosters original items like the famous pepper jelly. Over recent years the prices have increased and the quality has dipped just a bit. Overall it’s good but not great. The setting is far better than the products. Both as restaurant and market.

The food is good but somewhat overpriced. I got a sandwich for $8. Not a big sandwich at all. It was good, but not amazing. I think if you're going to charge $8 for a fairly small sandwich, why not at least throw in a handful of chips for free? That wouldn't cost much, and would help round out the meal. The outdoor space is nice and service was good.
