Pound for pound, Favors claims to be the best bakery in town. Favor Desserts was established in July 2004 in Durham, North Carolina by Master Baker Keijuane Hester and continues to serve the Triangle area and beyond. While offering traditional baker's products, they are most well known for red velvet cupcakes, 5-flavored pound cake, carrot cake and Italian creme cake, just to name a few.

Recently had a slice of their cake at a Business Expo my church hosted and their cake was absolutely out of this world. We had 3 different cakes slices and with each one they kept getting better and better. The lemon cake was our absolute favorite- so moist and fresh! Highly recommend!

TL;DR:
They’re not bad, but the pastries didn’t seem very fresh. I personally think there are better options for the same price. For that reason I probably wouldn't go back here.
I went here a couple weeks ago. I ordered a number of things because I like trying random bakeries. The young lady working the counter was pretty nice and helped me pick out some items.
None of the items I got were bad, but they also weren’t what I usually expect from a bakery. I generally expect fresh pastries, and nothing I purchased seemed fresh. They reminded me of cupcakes you pull out of the freezer at Food Lion. They felt like they may have been prepared earlier in the week and stored to last longer.
I actually dropped one of the containers holding a cupcake, and the cream didn’t stick to the container or even get smushed. Everything was also on the dry side, which I think may be due to how the items are stored.

My gawd!!! The cupcakes taste home made ... Not bakery but home made! Who's grandma is back there hand mixing the batter! It is expensive but it is because it is real. Real chocolate, real butter, real ingredients. You can taste it. If you want cheap go to Walmart, if you want GOOD I mean real good come here!!!! This is coming from a person who cooks and it rarely impressed. I'm impressed!

Got a beautiful red velvet birthday cake for my nephews 21st! When we picked up the cake we also picked up some cupcakes. All was devoured!! Will recommend!

Very very impressed when I went the young lady was very sweet and suggested Red Velvet to me. I got a Red Velvet cupcake , a strawberry on strawberry cupcake , and a strawberry cake all of them were delicious & moist. Best cakes I’ve had in NC I WILL BE RETURNING.

Saw this company on some Facebook ads for NC state fair, so I screenshot it because I knew we were going the next day! We visited yesterday, the last day of fair and I found her! OF course I stopped!! We got Strawberry Crunch and Birthday Cake. It was amazing!! The cake texture was spot on, soft a fluffy! The icing was great also!! I wish I would've gotten a couple more lol! I didn't even get a picture of mine, the strawberry crunch lol It was gone! If I'm ever back up that way, I'd love to visit the store front!

I wish I had pictures, but the red velvet cake here is hands down my favorite! I tried this bakery a few years ago and wasn’t impressed, but after tasting their red velvet cake at a friend’s party recently, I was blown away. A few weeks later, I had one of Favor’s cakes at Soul Forking Good and instantly recognized that same amazing flavor—which sent me straight to the Favor storefront for more. This time, I tried the strawberry crunch cake, which was rich, moist, and indulgent (though a bit buttery for my taste), and of course, my all-time favorite—the red velvet. The staff were friendly, and the shop was spotless.
