I can’t believe I’ve not left a review of this place as we’ve RAVED about it to so many people, so here goes. Come here! Eat here! Pick anything, you’ll be back and you’ll also tell people to do the same. This is also this California girl’s 1st time trying hush puppies…if you don’t already know this, put some butter on those babies and sit back and enjoy your life💕 -
I was very pleased to see how busy they were. The parking lot was packed, but the inside there was still plenty of room. I got a large bbq plate with Cole slaw and green beans. The bbq was outstanding, had a smokey flavor, they gave me two different types of sauce, the vinegar based sauce is the way to go for the pulled pork. They other sauce was thicker and sweeter I imagine it would go really well with their brisket. The Cole slaw was good and not overly sweet. I would highly recommend coming here if are looking for some good down home bbq and sides, their banana pudding is outstanding as well. -
I ordered 2 meat (Ribs and brisket) plate with sides of potato salad, and pinto beans. Ribs were juicy and delicious with the bbq sauce. Brisket was tender and moist. Out did many of the well known bbq places in Texas which is our bench mark. The side were delightful as well. Wife had turkey but to our surprise it was not sliced like it is done in Texas. They told us in Carolina it is shredded so that the a bbq sauce with vinegar can better mix into. It was good but took getting used to. They also serve you these little hush puppies with a delicious taste! We will definitely be back when we come next year again to NC. -
Wonderful restaurant that seems popular with the locals, but it is also very friendly to newcomers or tourists. I had the pork chop with potato salad, collard greens, and hush puppies. It was very hard to cut into the chop with a plastic fork because it was so thick, but it was quite juicy! It did have a little bone in there, so watch out for this if you get this delicious meal! The potato salad reminded me of store bought, but it was good anyway. I absolutely loved the hush puppies and collard greens! A terrific meal at a fair price!
