Good place for straight up, country, inexpensive fare. Hush puppies are good and by the basket. Used to go here a lot when I worked right down the road. Most other places in the area are chains, :( with the exception of Shanghai. :) Nice, old-line family restaurant with a billion pictures of famous visitors on the wall. I like the Eastern N.C. style barbecue sandwich – tell them you want slaw on it.

This place is great! It has that good Ole down home, mom and pop feel. And the service is great! Most of the wait staff have been there for years. The food is awesome by the way! It never disappoints!

Though it's Sat. at 4:30, but quite busy, the services was great and the food was very tasty. Those two usual do not go hand in hand at any busy food establishment. My husband and I sat at the first table in the center isle. I couldn't walk far because I'd had surgery. My only regret today, I didn't get the Waitress name. I'd like to give her recognition for continuously checking on us. She's did an outstanding job.

Best damn food in Durham hands down. Been eating here since I was child, at 57 now and everything on the extensive menu is still good. The family style meal of bbq, fried chicken and Brunswick stew is a all you can eat feast.

Bullocks is very affordable, they have a very cool, diverse and loud people vibe, there is EVERYTHING you'd ever want to eat on a shocking expansive menu... but the food is only AVERAGE TO BELOW-AVERAGE in taste and quality and authenticity. The portions are BELOW AVERAGE in size, but you quickly come to appreciate that once you see and taste them. It becomes clear that many, many items are simply mass-purchased from a supply chain. This makes sense because NO ONE could home cook that many menu items every day on a premises. Just one tiny example: the Mac & Cheese.... NOTHING southern or authentic about it, CLEARLY not made there, ZERO flavor or appearance, and I've literally had better out of a box of Kraft.
