I absolutely recommend this restaurant if you want to try something new! It was one of the only restaurants open today, and I was a little hesitant to order something since the food is unusual to me, but it ended up being fantastic!
The portion size was excellent-just enough to be really full but not have leftovers, and the flavor was phenomenal. There was a ton of meat, and the rice and meat together was just fantastic.
I would absolutely recommend this place for a filling and flavorful meal!
If I’m back in Durham, I would absolutely consider coming back! Plus, they offer a military discount!

Just flavorful amazing cuisine. You will feel touched by the Caribbean head to toe. The empanada was the crisp and creamy. But the star of the show was the platter. Hit all the notes I was looking for from visit abroad.

Great food and the ordering at the table with virtual me yes makes things easier and smooth. They have some lawn games for the kids and it’s really fun. Great place to eat when it’s hot because their seating area is shaded and it’s got the stream right next to it.

Staff? So friendly. Food? Best fries I’ve ever had. Seriously. $3. Drinks? They have bags of boozy frozen peach drink for $8. Atmosphere? There’s water, there’s shade, there’s awesome live jazz music. Do yourself a favor and come try this spot!

I highly recommend the American Tobacco company for a date night. I went up during daylight hours to get dinner. However the view of the fountains and waterfalls are so much better at night.
Boricua Soul was an ok restaurant. The food wasn't bad, but felt like it could have been better, more flavorful, and authentic! You get a small amount of food but prices are reasonable.
We got our food to go because there are other various seating options around campus! However the total combined experience was amazing and relaxing. Side note: we were able to walk off dinner afterwards around the campus!

This is a small business, so I don't want to be too critical it's just not my bag. I can't say if the food was good or not, it's just not my thing. I'm a Puerto Rican guy that just didn't fall in love with this food. The people were nice, the atmosphere was awesome, the location was cool, but the food just wasn't for me so. I'll pass on giving my opinion on the food, but I can tell you this, you will enjoy yourself at this location. I did in spite of me having reservations about rating the food. So give it a try, people seem to be enjoying the food. My taste buds are a little different and this food wasn't for me.

Great location great food!! They also offer vegan options that are crazy good!!! Love the guy that took our order!! Very bubbly, energetic, and he wasn't afraid to laugh with us while he took our order and he also made great recommendations!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Location is great. Food is great. Customer service is phenomenal. I drove from Charlotte to try thus place out. I'm so glad I did. Will definitely go back. The pork is amazing. The adult "Capri sun" like drink is bomb!!!!

My friends and I took a day trip to downtown Durham and decided to try this restaurant. So glad we did…The food is amazing!!! The staff is so welcoming and helpful. Make sure to try Los chicharrones thigh bites, Mac and cheese and the collards!! You will not be disappointed 🥰
