First came here to support a neighbor and the dog fostering organization she works with. Ended up bidding on and winning a "beer internship" that was auctioned by the taproom to benefit the foster organization. What a great and creative idea to fundraise as well as get to know the owner and bartenders, their extensive beer knowledge and expand my understanding on the different varieties of beer I've never tried or appreciated. Started the internship as "stouts or porters, no IPA please" and ended up with the knowledge of which IPAs I actually can appreciate, what to look for in styles plus many more local breweries that were under my nose all the time. The amount of dedication to product selection for individual beer styles is astounding as well as the care & cleanliness standards of Beertooth Taproom. Can't recommend them highly enough -
Nice neighborhood taproom. Good place to grab a brew. It's also close to restaurant so if you want to get a bite to eat, it's a great place to go. Also, I like their patio area. -
I absolutely love Beer Tooth! The selection, atmosphere, and the staff are always amazing.
If you're ever unsure what you're in the mood for, the bartenders can help you figure that out too. Just ask and tell them what you normally like.
Love something on tap? You can also go home with a crowler of it!
Definitely check out run club on Mondays, craft club on Tuesdays, and trivia on Thursdays. They also run regular weekend events and fundraisers. -
If you are looking for craft beer and a fun night out, you would be hard pressed to find a better place in Durham than Beer Tooth Taproom. It is obvious the owners care about the quality of their beer and keep their lines clean, as well as make sure their taproom is as welcoming a place as can be.
As a bartender and beer purchaser, Christa is probably one of the most diligent and honest people I have ever met in how she thinks about beer and how she selects her offerings. Her palate is extremely discerning and she selects amazing quality beer, many which are local from around the region. Her pricing is exceedingly competitive and is a great value. Even the stock of beer and seltzers in the fridge is quality, with attention paid to the quality of Non-Alcoholic brews and beverages she has on hand as well. With that level of attention to detail, you can expect that your experience will meet your expectation.
Beer Tooth has many event nights as well, with a run club on Mondays, Craft club on Tuesdays, A Beer School on every first Wednesday, Trivia Thursdays, and many weekend events, so it feels like there is always something to look forward to, while still maintaining a comfortable and casual atmosphere. Plus it’s pet friendly for friendly pets, which is pretty great.
All in all, having been a consistent patron of this establishment for over a year, I cannot recommend Beer Tooth Taproom enough. There is a lot of fantastic craft brew options in south Durham, but if you haven’t tried this one yet, do yourself a favor. It truly is a hidden gem. You won’t regret it. -
Beer Tooth Taproom hosted an even for the rescue I volunteer with. They were very accommodating, and the atmosphere was clean, fun, and super cozy! I loved getting to meet the owner and hear their story. Will definitely be back again soon!
