You'll always find friendly and knowledgeable service, a bustling atmosphere and thoughtful offerings–all of which have made BV a landmark Triangle area destination. There are no reservations, and the small, cozy restaurant can fill up quickly on a DPAC show night. Overflow seating can be found at its sister bar, Annexe.

One of those places that’s aesthetic AND has great food!
Almost everything on the appetizer list we have tried, and we have not once been disappointed. We always come here and get the house burger, and try something different .
This time for appetizer, we tried the muscles which came with fries and this incredible sauce. For entrée I ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and chicken that had the best crunch from being grilled. -
LOVED this place! We got into town late and were able to get a delicious dinner and drinks at 9:30pm. Our server gave us the right amount of attention and space and also offered some great drink recommendations. We both loved our seasonal cocktails. The kale salad was fantastic and my son loved his burger and fries. The restaurant was crowded but they were able to find us a table for two. Loved the vibe too!

I will never stop thinking about this restaurant and the food. My mouth is watering thinking about it currently, the brussels, mac and cheese, salad are all incredible. The Braised Pork Risotto is officially my death bed meal, and the chimichuri on the steak frites was just great. Tessa was our waitress and she was so kind and attentive. I truly LOVE Bar Virgile.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it’s easily one of my new favorite spots. If you are looking for a place that balances a sophisticated vibe with a welcoming atmosphere, this is it.
The Vibe & Atmosphere
Right when you walk in, you notice the "vibe" is just right. It’s stylish and "very nice" without feeling stuffy. One of the biggest wins for me was the acoustics—it’s actually easy to talk! So many places these days are too loud to hold a conversation, but here, you can actually enjoy the company you're with.
The Drinks & Service
I started the evening with a cocktail, and it was fantastic—perfectly balanced and clearly made by someone who knows their craft. This was made even better by the staff. The service was prompt and professional, but more importantly, the people were incredibly kind. You can tell the team here genuinely cares about your experience.
The Food
The food was delicious. What I appreciated most was the portioning. They aren't "huge" plates that leave you feeling sluggish; instead, they are just right. Every bite was flavorful and high-quality, leaving me feeling perfectly satisfied rather than overstuffed.
Summary: Whether you’re on a date or catching up with an old friend, this is the perfect spot. Great drinks, wonderful people, and a relaxed environment. I’ll definitely be back! -
Went there for dinner prior to an event at DPAC. Get there when it opens - they don’t take reservations! We arrived at 5 for a 730 PM event. Friendly and knowledgeable service, cocktails were a nice mix of the classics and their own concoctions. We loved the Burrata salad (shared) and had the salmon and pea / short rib risotto. Both were delicious. There was no pressure to eat and run - very enjoyable evening!
