Good food, quick service. I wish they had a website, I could place order online and just pick it up.

Not great but not horrible. The traditional Vietnamese dishes lack certain essential ingredients. The spring roll had one piece of basil and the "pho" had no herbs with it. The vegetable platter only came with fried tofu. The menu didn't have any descriptions so this came as a surprise. I typically think vegetables would come in a vegetable platter.

Fresh veggies, great sauces and hot soup. Thumbs up! Love the salad roll too!

Cash only place that has been amazing time and time again. It's a small menu but the egg rolls and lemon grass pork were out of this world. At first glance you might make some assumptions but the older woman who runs the front is nice and you can tell the food is homemade. I can't recommend this place enough.

Go on Wed and Sat. Be sure to order from the specials menu. Rinse. Repeat. The food is flavorful and the prices are easy on the wallet. I ordered way more food than I could eat in one sitting just to be able to taste everything but I think I could've gotten away with a ordering half off what I got and I would've been satisfied.

Incredible Moo Goo chicken! Will put this place into the weekly rotation! Ginger chicken was a fresh ginger sauce, quality is unreal.

Does Banh's need another 5-star review? No. We all know they're great! I guess just now that I live farther from Durham and don't get the chance to fight for a table on specials days as much anymore, I don't mind sharing!

The best deal in Durham and the nicest owners you’ll ever find. One very important note: Always order off the Specials board, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays when they serve more traditional Vietnamese dishes. I cannot stress this enough: order off the regular menu and you’ll be somewhat disappointed. Order off the Specials and you’ll be blown away.

Just very bland. Seen good reviews, was hoping to get good food. My daughter got curry and you can see it’s got huge chucks of chicken, very little sauce, no spice. I got the moo goo gui pan, or something. Again bland. Nice array of veggies but very bland. Even the rice. Very disappointed.

The sauce is very good! I highly recommend the chicken wings, and the broccoli does not taste like plastic (which means it’s very well cooked). They only have Vietnamese food on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The portion size is perfect too!

This is a very simple straight forward place with the usual college favorites except two days a week they post their specialties and you can get a taste of some authentic flavors for a great price. They are cash only and a great little place for a bite to eat.

I’ve been here since i was 16 (now 33), and the women here are hard working and personable. It’s a little gem, and a great representation of quality in their craft. They always give you enough to feel miserably full, and I hope more people check this place out! Spicy chicken wings are cheap for what you get!

Bahn's has been a favorite since the early 90s. I literally came 90 miles out of the way while visiting family to eat here today, and it is still excellent. My favorite is the delicious kung pao chicken, although the ginger chicken is excellent when available. If you are a student at NCSSM or Duke, do not miss out on this excellently priced deliciousness.

Food is prepared for you at time of order and is surprisingly good. I was honestly surprised by this place. We took a chance here because we saw locals doing a lot of takeout. We've had the sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, cabbage egg roll and kung pao chicken. The portions are large. Think of this place as a food cart in New York.

Always good food at a good price. Plenty of hand sanitizer by the door. Tall plaxiglass shields the cashier and most of the counter. They even offer disposable gloves. Food has the same good quality as before. This is possibly the best Asian food around (oh, I am Asian)

Can’t believe it took me so long to hear about/go here! The vegetarian specials are great and the portions are huge. I had the banh mi with tofu and eggplant, and my boyfriend had the black bean tofu plate. They apparently are only served Wednesdays and Saturdays but it’s worth a special trip! Owner is super nice too!

The Vietnamese specials on Wednesdays and Saturdays are worth a special trip-- the vegetarian special (usually some form of crispy tofu with black bean sauce and sticky rice) is one of my favorite meals in the entire Triangle! Local, long-time standing, gem of a restaunt. Truly delicious, made to order, unique flavors. This is bare bones restaurant, so don't expect luxury or mahogany tables (fine by me.) CASH ONLY

The vegetarian plate is one of those things that I come back for regularly. It's such a simple dish on the surface but the flavors are complex and comforting (not to mention filling!). It's a popular spot for sure.

I have been eating at Banh's for over a decade. In all that time, the 100+ of times I've surely been there, the food is always made to order fresh, delicious and consistent. I haven't been out much during the pandemic (only gotten takeout a very few times), and yesterday after not having been to Banh's in months we picked up some take out. The food tasted exactly as I remembered. The staff, which I'm pretty certain are mostly family members that own the place, are always friendly and just awesome. I love Banh's and I love them too. I am happy to know they are still open, and I hope they are able to continue to remain that way. These are good people sharing wonderful food. Dont take my word for it. Try it for yourself. Order off the handwritten menu, and everything will be just fine.

Truly the best pho spot in town, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Being a vegetarian I had given up on finding tasty pho broth, but the Pho Chuy is everything I ever crave from pho. The tofu and veggies are always cooked perfectly as well, never soggy. Try it!

I only leave reviews for places that are horrible or excellent. This place happens to be on the excellent end of the spectrum. I love food and I love eating at restaurants. Of all the places in the triangle to eat, the chicken and tofu with broccoli at this place has to be one of my favorite meals. I love it! Thanks for the great food!

If I could give Banh’s one hundred stars- I would. Banh’s is a durham staple that I have been going to since I was wee. The women there could not be nicer, I feel like they’re part of our family. The food is delicious- I’ve been getting mixed veggies and tofu almost every week since I first went there, and when I’m away at college, Banh’s is the first thing I miss.

This is a Durham treasure. It’s simple and the food is handcrafted and excellent. The Number One on the Wednesday and Saturday Vietnamese Menu is a must have, also Number Six on Wednesday’s menu is fantastic. All of the 1 and 2 star ratings are almost exclusively from the young and clueless of life hipsters and Gen Z’ers attempting to infest the area. Pay them no attention.

We had hot and sour soup, ginger chicken and sesame tofu and they tasted like 5 star dishes. They were actually out of the soup but the owner made us a fresh pot. The chicken was super tender, and the plentiful amount of fresh ginger and broccoli was exactly what we needed. It was a delicious and nutritious meal! (Thank you to the owner who made fresh soup for us).

Best deal on good food. I've been eating here for approximately 30 years. Classic, humble, cash only, food for the people. Saturdays and Tuesday? the women owners serve original Vietnamese food. Dont forget Cash only, affordable and unpretentious. Dont look for a sexy environment. It's very basic counter service and service station seating

Best Vietnamese in Durham! Located in the bustling 9th St area, Banh's is an understated restaurant space with top-notch food, low prices and excellent customer service. Remember to bring cash--no credit cards accepted. I get to go from here a few times per month and occasionally eat at one of the outside tables if it's nice out. A great choice for a variety of people-- from foodies seeking authentic Vietnamese to college students look for a low-priced meal in a convenient location. Highly recommend!

This is absolutely one of the greatest places I've ever been. I never write reviews, but eating the banh mi here is a religious experience. They only sell them on Saturday and frequently sell out before 2pm because it is THAT GOOD. Locals to Durham come here all the time and so should you.

Beyond wonderful. A Durham institution. Everyone who passes through the city should eat here at least twice– once, to get the sesame chicken and once to try some of their Vietnamese specials (served on Wednesdays and Saturdays). The sesame chicken is so good. By so good, I mean a religious experience. They also do sesame tofu, if you're vegetarian. The sesame chicken is shatteringly crispy, super juicy, and flavored wonderfully. They don't list sesame chicken on the menu on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but if you ask, they'll make it (as long as they aren't too busy). It comes with carrots and broccoli stir-fried in the same sauce as the chicken and they're always cooked to perfection– tender with a crisp bite. The chicken itself is always large chunks of high quality chicken. The portions are generous as well– I always have left over sesame chicken. When I'm too lazy to transfer it to another container and microwave it, I'll eat it straight out of the fridge and it's still perfect and crispy. If you have to order only one Vietnamese item, I'd recommend the banh mi (only on Saturdays) or the hu tieu. Their noodle soups use the same broth, which is the type to cool to a jelly when you refrigerate the leftovers. Naturally, the gel texture indicates a wonderful, heartwarming broth. Of course, the hu tieu reheats wonderfully. It comes with ample toppings, like duck, ground pork, shrimp, caramelized onions (a wonderful touch), celery, scallions, and peanuts. Don't expect the meats to be the most succulent, tender, and high quality pieces, though I don't mind it at all. Even though it's a steaming bowl of noodle soup, it's perfect for all weather. There must be some sort of argument to make with fighting hot weather with hot foods, right? The banh mi is vegetarian and always served overflowing with tofu and eggplant. Be warned that they sell out by lunch! I understand that some people have an aversion to eggplant, but depending on what culture you're from, you probably haven't tried eggplant like this! The only downside is that they're hard to eat from being so generously stuffed. The includes shredded pickled carrots and sprigs of cilantro. The bread is perfect. The line does get pretty long when groups come in and all order sesame chicken, but the food comes out quickly. I think they only have three or four workers, but they're all very nice. 100% worth visiting.
