I'm going to be honest. I expected more from the reviews. 5 stars for the service. The rest... not so much.
I ordered the steak bento with a side of Hamachi.
The salad and soup came quick. The dressing was surprisingly tasty. The soup was very average.
The bento was full. It looked good. Unfortunately it was very bland. The fried rice was bland and boring. The California rolls were nothing special. The vegetable tempura was okay. There was a weird thousand island-type sauce that I think was for dipping the steak cubes in. The teriyaki steak cubes were tender, but once again barely flavorful - even with the teriyaki sauce. The onions and zucchini were good.
The sashimi arrived after my bento. The 3 pieces were pretty good, and I liked the presentation.
The only option I had to add flavor was Wasabi and soy sauce. So that's what I did.
All in all, a highly forgettable meal, I'm sad to say. -
Lunchtime. My first experience dining here at this sushi restaurant. Sushi rolls were delicious. The Japanese chicken curry was a tad salty and watery but the two carrots, three pieces of potato, and the three pieces of chicken were well cooked. I poured the curry over my rice and it improved the balance of flavor immediately. I am looking to have lunch here again with my friends. -
We recently visited Akashi Sushi and had a really enjoyable experience. The restaurant had a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
We ordered the chirashi bowl, curry rice, tempura, and regular nigiri. The sashimi in the chirashi bowl was very fresh and flavorful, and the variety made it feel satisfying without being too heavy. The curry rice was comforting and well-seasoned, while the tempura was crispy and light instead of oily. The nigiri was also beautifully prepared, with fresh fish and nicely balanced rice.
The food came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh and well made. Overall, it felt like a great spot for both family dinners and casual meals with friends.
If you’re looking for quality Japanese food around the Raleigh area, Akashi Sushi is definitely worth trying. -
We have been coming here for years. The BOGO sushi is such a good deal compared to other places around us. And it's usually very good. Get the Agedashi tofu as an appetizer. It's so satisfying and light. -
Great sushi options that are half off when you get 3 or more rolls. Definitely worth it for the value!
