Amanda is simply the best! We started working with her in early 2020 for our January 2021 wedding. We thought the world would have recovered from COVID by the time our wedding rolled around, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Amanda took the re-scheduling in stride and was able to move every single one of our vendors to our new date in November 2021. She was always two steps ahead of us with anything we would need to anticipate, and kept in contact with us through frequent emails, texts, calls, and Zoom meetings. Amanda has incredible connections with vendors in the Raleigh/Durham area - she always presented the best three options to us for each vendor type so we could pick what we liked, and then she set up all the meetings. She walked through every step of planning (twice!) and we loved each minute of working with her. Beyond Amanda's connections and organization skills, she is so kind and personable. She was excited with us as we grew closer to our wedding, and really empathized with us through all the changing of plans. Despite her having many other clients, it always felt like we were a priority to her. We are forever thankful for her hard work. Our wedding was pulled off flawlessly, we couldn't have asked for more!

Amanda of A Swanky Affair is incredible! First things first, she's incredibly kind and easy to work with. But second, she makes sure that EVERY detail of your wedding is discussed and taken care of. My now husband and I were scheduled to get married April 2020, so I'm sure you can imagine the chaos that came with rescheduling, new dates, new vendors, etc. Through every change, Amanda's attention to detail made the process smooth and manageable. She helped ease our stress and accommodated our questions and concerns. When we finally were able to have our wedding in November of 2021, everything was seamless. The day ran so smoothly, I did not have to think about one detail. From the rehearsal to the ceremony, everything turned out beautifully and Amanda was a big part of this. Amanda Scott, owner of A Swanky Affair, was a huge help as we navigated the challenges of hosting our daughter’s wedding at a very large and very busy venue. We especially appreciated her timely and efficient communication skills. While dealing with some other vendors who did not respond at all (or took days/weeks to respond) to our questions and concerns during the planning process, it was a pleasure to always receive her responses either immediately, or within 24 hours. This was very, very important to us. Amanda was efficient, knowledgeable, and extremely organized, with a focus on detail. And very important: she was calming and reassuring during those moments when panic would arise, which inevitably occur during the planning of a wedding. Amanda was on point thru all the Zoom calls, phone calls, text messages, emails and venue planning sessions we scheduled throughout our year of planning. We were blessed to have her as our wedding coordinator and appreciate all she did to help our daughter realize the wedding of her dreams. Thank you, thank you, Amanda!!!

If you're looking for a wedding planner and/or coordinator, look no further than Amanda. She is simply the best. We met Amanda in 2019 for the first time to meet about our (originally) summer 2020 wedding at Bay 7 in downtown Durham. She saw us through a complicated postponement towards the beginning of the pandemic and was able to reschedule in such a way that we could keep all the vendors we had booked. All of our vendors were excited to hear that Amanda was our planner because they know that she is a professional who knows how to pull off an event with a great attention to detail. Amanda is incredibly organized and kept us and all our vendors on track. Many times I called or emailed her with a new concern I had just thought of, and she always had already seen around the corner and solved the issue. She coordinated between all our vendors flawlessly and the event was truly beyond our dreams. Because of the postponement, we were wedding planning for about two years with Amanda and it feels weird to not have a reason to speak to her! She becomes a part of the family and we cannot recommend her enough.

We worked with Amanda for our wedding weekend She made every aspect of wedding coordination so simple and so fun! From the planning stages to the final day, she was always there to listen, troubleshoot and devise creative solutions (especially with all the moving parts of the pandemic). We don't know how we would have gotten through the day and the weekend without her. While her work and her amazing reviews speak for themselves, the best thing about Amanda is the relationship that she built with us. She truly took the time to get to know us and our family through zoom calls and emails. By the time the wedding came around, she knew our goals and vision, and my entire family could easily trust her. We loved working with Amanda and would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her! :)

It was a fantastic whirlwind weekend, coordinated by Amanda for our son and daughter-in-law’s out of town wedding! All events were meticulously coordinated with the bride and groom and their families, multiple vendors (several caterers, florist, band, lighting, etc.), and included a welcome dinner, wedding ceremony and reception, and next day brunch. Amanda’s attention to detail and calming manner ensured that all were well prepared, all went perfectly, and where loving memories were made! Highly recommended! Thank you Amanda!

Amanda is spot on when it comes to organizing and ensuring that your wedding will unfold without any hitches or unforeseen problems. She stuck with us through the pandemic delays and always had a positive and upbeat attitude through all of the challenges we encountered. I've had another daughter's wedding in which I did not have a wedding planner so I know just how valuable her services were. I highly recommend Amanda - she will help you keep your sanity and enable you to have exactly the kind of wedding that you want. I was able to fully relax and enjoy the ceremony and reception because I knew Amanda had everything under control. On top of that, she is so kind and very calm. That is priceless!

Amanda helped us plan the most amazing wedding for my daughter this spring. Due to Covid 19 the wedding had to be rescheduled a year later and a venue change was needed rather last minute due to the our original venue not reopening in time. When hiring her I could have never imagined all we would encounter this past year. Amanda took all this in stride and helped us make the necessary decisions and changes much more palatable. I can't imagine having to handle all those changes without her. She has a great personality and is very professional....which was so needed at that time. Amanda took our ideas of the perfect wedding (or any celebration) and make them a reality. She is well known and respected by other vendors in the industry making it easy to coordinate and to work as a team. She will get things done with perfection and keep everyone on schedule. Planning a wedding is a busy time so knowing that Amanda was at our side I could relax and enjoy the planning process. Her experience helped us see things we were unaware of and would have never thought about on our own. And, on the BIG day I didn't think about anything but enjoying our family and friends. Amanda did an amazing job as our wedding coordinator. We enjoyed working with Amanda from the moment we met her. She is very upfront with what she does and communicates everything in a very clear and effective way. Amanda made sure everything was lined up with all of our vendors and made sure that all of our ducks were in a row. Amanda made a clear and simple timeline for the wedding party and family to follow the day of our wedding. The rehearsal went smooth and the whole wedding weekend was a great success. When we were planning a wedding from out of state, we knew we would need some help coordinating the day-of. From our first phone call, I immediately clicked with Amanda. She was enthusiastic, and had great tips on how to implement our ideas. She has totally customizable service, meaning you can choose the exact aspects you're looking for, within your budget. We hired Amanda for the day-of coordination - my fiance and I wanted to do the planning ourselves, but we needed help to make sure everything went smoothly on the actual day. We also added on catering guidance. Amanda worked in catering previously, and has a good handle of what to look for in catering contracts. She set up tastings with local caterers, and was able to accommodate our short trip in town. We met with Amanda at the venue a couple times, and she was always very responsive via email and phone. I know she handles a lot of events, but I never felt rushed. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly! I heard of tiny incidents after the fact that she took care of immediately. It was great to know that our wedding was in extremely capable hands, and my family and I could just enjoy the day. From the small things (making sure I had my shoes and phone in the getaway car) to the big things (making sure everything was on schedule!), she handled it all with ease and a smile. She has a great reputation in Durham, and I can attest that she lives up to the hype! I cannot recommend her enough!

Amanda provided month-of coordination services for my wedding, and working with her was one of the best decisions I made while planning my wedding. I had hired most of my other vendors, but didn't know how everything was going to come together and I didn't want all of the details to fall on me and my family on my wedding day. At first, I was worried that hiring a coordinator was an extra expense and wasn't sure that I really needed one, but after meeting with Amanda, I knew I needed her help! She knows her stuff, and I could tell that she knew exactly what I needed, and that everything would go smoothly under her direction. When I sent all of my other vendor contracts to Amanda for review, she thought of things that never would have crossed my mind. She provided great feedback and helped me with key decisions related to the wedding day. Our rehearsal was quick and easy, and everything on the wedding day was flawless (if there were any issues, I still don't know about them to this day because she just handled things!). She was there super early helping other vendors get everything delivered and set up and was around every time I needed something or had a question. In the end, our wedding was everything that we wanted, and I don't know how I could have done it without Amanda. She had worked with most of my other vendors before, and having a vendor team that knew each other and worked well together made things even better. If you want to fully enjoy your wedding day with no stress, you need Amanda!

I did quite a bit of research finding a wedding planner for my daughter’s wedding in Chapel Hill and I can say unequivocally that Amanda was the right choice! With my daughter busy in Pharmacy School and me living in Florida I knew I needed someone who we could both count on to get things done, but without either of us giving up complete control. Amanda’s a la carte services style is brilliant. It allowed us to pick and choose specific things we needed her for while allowing us to take care of the planning we felt comfortable doing ourselves. Amanda asked all the right questions, made all the right suggestions and was instrumental in helping my daughter’s vision become a reality. Even though we handled a few of the details on our own, Amanda was able to effortlessly dovetail our efforts with hers. Amanda provided us with a very specific budget and timeline which proved to be invaluable throughout the planning process. We knew exactly when decisions needed to be made and we even managed to stay under budget. Amanda set up meetings with vendors, helped with contracts, coordinated with the venue and kept us calm and on track. Her attention to detail is remarkable. Knowing that she had things under control at all times allowed us to enjoy the wedding planning process with very little stress. Amanda is calm and reassuring and there seems to be no problem to which she cannot find the answer. By the day of the wedding, everything had been so perfectly planned and we felt so confident in Amanda’s handling of everything that we were able to relax and enjoy the entire wedding weekend. In our case she was not. There was some sort of miscommunication among the staff at our venue and they threw out all of our flowers at the end of the reception. We had intended to use them the next day at a brunch. Although the flowers could not be recovered, Amanda stepped in on our behalf and in the end the venue gave us a significant compensation for the error. Amanda is easy going and a joy to work with but she is also confident and competent. If you’re looking for someone who can help to make your wedding both beautiful and stress free, you can’t go wrong with Amanda.

I was a “covid bride” so I had a long journey with Amanda in 2020 and into 2021 where the big day finally happened! Amanda was AMAZING throughout it all! She is extremely professional, talented, and very knowledgeable of wedding planning and making sure things go smooth and perfect for your big day! If you're looking for someone who is organized, has an eye for small details without losing sight of the big picture, and will make your wedding party/family feel prepared and excited (I had a very nervous Dad over here!) but keeping everyone on schedule...this is your wake up call! I chose to work with Amanda as my day of coordinator (which, you're in luck because this really means month of coordinator) because I was really enjoying the planning process but knew day-of, I wouldn't want to be telling vendors where to set up and getting frantic phone calls because one of the groomsmen forgot his coat - she also offers full service planning. Starting 5 weeks out from our wedding, Amanda began integrating into the process. I sent her all of my vendor contracts and other important documents, which she was able to review and contact all vendors to get the ball rolling. Her response time is insane...not once did it take her more than a day to respond to me...many times within a couple hours or even minutes. Talk about putting my mind at ease. Instead of fielding questions about linens and guest count from 10+ vendors, everyone went through her and that streamlined everything so well and really eliminated any stress I was told by countless people to be prepared for. We created a detailed timeline for the day, which she swiftly shared with vendors and the wedding party/immediate family (during the rehearsal she ran...again To. A. Tee.) The day of couldn't have been smoother and all I had to focus on was getting ready with my girlfriends, getting MARRIED to my husband, and dancing the night away. So not only is she good at her job logistically, but she has the perfect personality for the job. She is so kind and warm, putting everyone at ease, but also had something about her where you could tell she means business! The perfect combination to keep everything on track but still so enjoyable from start to finish. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Amanda was a godsend for my daughters pandemic wedding. Crazy changes and Amanda didn’t skip a beat. She is extremely detailed oriented and points out things that you would never think of. I felt comfortable calling her and asking any questions that came up. She leaves nothing out and the bride or her mother aren’t stressed out with details especially the day of! Amanda is fabulous to work with!
