On behalf of our community, Discover Durham is facilitating a process over the course of 2023 to develop a long-term vision for Durham’s development as a welcoming and attractive destination, improving the quality of life for residents through the economic and community benefits visitors provide. A vision for the future
Last year, visitors spent more than $800M in Durham, providing vital revenue to businesses, supporting thousands of jobs, and generating tax revenue that supports local government services.
Our goal for the Destination Master Plan is to create a 20-year vision and roadmap for Durham, providing the framework for inclusive, values-based, responsible tourism development and promotion that ensures balance between the needs of our residents, our businesses who rely on visitors for their livelihoods, and the visitors who experience our community.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Community engagement and input is a core component of understanding the needs of our community, and there are two ways to participate:
Community Survey
We invite you to complete this survey, which will take approximately 15 minutes. As a thank you, you will be entered into a drawing to win one of three $100 cash cards. Please note that survey responses are anonymous, and your email will not be used for any other purposes.
Upcoming Town Halls
The second opportunity for engagement will be to attend one of two Town Halls that will be scheduled for the evening of September 7 and the morning of September 8.
