The Ella Fountain Pratt Legacy Gallery was created by the Durham Arts Council in honor of the service Ella Fountain Pratt provided to the Durham arts community for over 58 years. During her career with Duke University's Office of Cultural Affairs and her volunteer career with the Durham Arts Council, she brought national and international artistic talent to Durham, designed the Emerging Artists Grant Program, championed Creative Arts in the Public Schools (CAPS), produced Durham Arts Council's Street Operas, and mentored countless students, artists, and arts organizations. The gallery includes a permanent exhibit dedicated to Mrs. Pratt's life and accomplishments and rotating exhibits of work by visual artists who have received an Emerging Artists Grant award.
