The atmosphere was very peaceful. The staff too were also very friendly. Food was authentic, this is not the type of place that takes short cuts when assembling their dishes. Absolutely loved the experience!

Amazing spot with absolutely delicious offerings! Our server was wonderful and the atmosphere of Viceroy is cozy but unique. Our food and drinks were tasty and a great take on Indian flavors. I highly recommend to those looking for a charming spot that has really tasty cuisine!

Excellent food and cocktails. This place does fill up rather quickly so either come early or get reservations.

Viceroy is a great gem on main Street in Durham. This is a do not miss as the atmosphere and food are absolutely amazing. My friend and I popped in on a Friday evening and it was packed. There was room at the bar so we decided to sit there. It was a great spot as we got to chat with the bartender, see all the drinks go out, and received attentive service. We were not super hungry so I decided to get the garlic Naan with the chutney sauces and my friend got the chickpea salad. Both were amazing! The Naan had tons of flavor and a nice hint of smokiness. The chickpea salad had a combo of flavors that were salty, savory, and sweet. I love that it had a lot of onions and it was super satisfying. I would've eaten all of it by myself, but I tried my best to remember I was sharing. I would come back for one of their curries, which are reasonably priced and smelled heavenly! So I will be back!

We visited Viceroy for Pre Diwali Dinner. Service was quick. We ordered Pani Puri, Samosa, anjeer Kofta, Paneer Mykanwala, Chilli nan, and Garlic naan. Food was good. I particularly liked pani Puri. It had a twist of watermelon juice in the pani puri water. It tasted good. Second thing I liked a little more was Anjeer Kofta. The recipe of adding anjeer in regular kofta was great. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Salt in all food items was at little lower side. They provided table salt and black pepper to add. Over all quantity vs pricing is at little higher end. Ambience and environment was great. There is not much waiting area, will suggest reserving your table Specially if you are visiting over a weekend or festive days.

One of the best Indian food we have had in the US. We live in Dallas, and have lived in SFO, both cities with numerous options, but have had nothing even comparable to the quality, taste, service and ambiance of Viceroy. Chicken and lamb both are halal, which isn’t common information I’m guessing since I didn’t find it anywhere until I called to ask. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting or even lives around here, and we will forever be looking forward to visiting Durham to eat here.

Viceroy is a quaint authentic Indian spot in downtown Durham, the interior is Indian focus, yet accents of pub style vibe. The team members are personable + menu knowledgeable. If you sit at the bar, Matt, and his side kick, Annie can assist with wine pairings for the curries, and they’re both helpful when picking the right dish. The great thing about Viceroy is no matter the curry you order, they tailor to your spice level. Mild, Medium, or bring on the heat. Whatever curry you get, don’t forget the naan. See pictures with the details. They do offer daily specials too! Will always return here, one of the best spots in Durham, especially during the fall months.

Viceroy creates a magic with its authentic flavors and classic Independence era British pub vibe. Located in the heart of downtown Durham, it has a warm and inviting ambiance and a concise menu of mouthwatering dishes that captivate you upon selection. Palak chaat was a great start with its crispy Palak pakoras and Besan flavor topped generously with chutneys & yogurt to create a delightful chaat. Jeera Wings were even more fulfilling , with plump looking and tandoori-fied cumin heavy chicken drumsticks served over a bed of roasted veggies and complimented by cool raita. From the Mains, I tried their classic Paneer Makhanwala and Smoked Daal Bukhara along with Garlic Naan. What can I say- it was so so delicious. The sweet, creamy, delicately spiced gravy went so well with the perfectly charred Garlic Naan. Finally dessert- I settled with the innovative cadbury kheer which was awesome. Real Cadbury chocolate flavor without it being too dominant. The rice however were basmati- bit odd choice for a kheer. It should have the short grain rice instead. Service is very attentive & personable. Although i feel they should provide more privacy at times. All on all- a fantastic experience. Indian verified.

Viceroy, serving Indian fusion dishes stands top on my list for one of the best Indian food places. Freshly made, flavorful and served piping hot. Been here multiple times now and enjoyed an amazing dine in experience! Recommend making a reservation ahead! Must try- Palak patha chaat, Butter Chicken, Lamb chops, Anjeer kofta, Caramel kheer

We came in for an early dinner but didn't make a reservation. The manager told us there's a table available but it's reserved for a party in an hour. Can you be done by then? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED for two New Yorkers. We ordered the Mushroom Tandoori to share. The spice marinade is tasty and the mushrooms themselves are juicy while the exterior is well coated with spice. It's a great appetizer. For dinner we ordered the Paneer Mykanwala and Chicken Vindaloo. Both curries came out piping hot and delicious. The Paneer is tasty with a creamy sauce. The Chicken vindaloo has a great acidic kick. All in all, the service is great. And the food is amazing. Looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

Great atmosphere, service, food and drinks! Make sure you have a reservation for this hidden gem. The inside of this restaurant is so nice; perfect date night to dress up for! I had the chicken korma and the seasonal watermelon margarita.

Wanted to dine in at a new place this time apart from Cary or morrisville area and found this restaurant in Raleigh. First thing I observed is there are plenty of parking spots behind the restaurant and need not worry of finding a spot for street parking. Tried the appetizers all of them tasted really good and fresh. The main course menu is kind a limited that is the only concern which let me give just 4.5 stars apart from that everything checks out. Worth a try

Amazing cocktails - Spicy Papi and Tamarind Daiquiri delicious- neither were too sweet. Food was excellent! Only spent 2 nights in Durham and night one was so good - came back a second night! Samosa, Goni Sukka, Palak Chaat, lamb lollipops, Momos and Murg Mykanwala - all delicious! Don't come to Durham and miss this restaurant!!!
