The Durham Bulls are the beloved minor league home team in Durham. Whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or just enjoy a good time, the Durham Bulls deliver a fun night of entertainment for everyone in a modern stadium. Here are just a few reasons why the 2016 home game season at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) is poised to be a great one:

Theme nights at the Durham bulls add extra fun to an already exciting baseball game:

Bark in the Park, June 8 and August 3, encourages fans to bring their dogs with them to the game. Canine tickets are only $5, and proceeds will benefit Second Chance Pet Adoptions.
DURM Night, June 9, will celebrate Durham's community with specially designed jerseys by Runaway, Durham's homegrown apparel brand.
Comic Book Night, June 26, will give everyone a chance to dress up like their favorite super heroes.
Merge Records Night, August 4, will celebrate the local record company and their artists.
Negro League Night, August 14, will celebrate the history of Durham's local Negro League. Fans will be able to meet former Negro League players who will sign autographs on the concourse during the game.

Theme nights are a chance to get dressed up, have some fun, and get into the spirit of the game! Get your tickets soon because theme nights fill up fast.

3. DBAP has the most local beer of any minor league stadium

Local beer can't get more local than mere steps from home plate. Be sure to visit Bull Durham Beer Company, the only brewery located inside a minor league stadium. Try the Lollygagger Kolsh or Water Tower Wheat -- both excellently compliment a hot summer night.

4. Wool E. Bull pumps up the crowd

Wool E. Bull is more than just a team mascot. He's a dancer, a racecar driver, a base runner, and a beloved community icon. Kids love getting Wool E.'s signature and fans of all ages enjoy watching his antics throughout the games -- afterall, Wool E. was named "Best Mascot" by Baseball America in 2016.

Don't be surprised if he gets you doing the wave, the Macarena, or cheering for young kids as they try to beat him at an obstacle course.

5. DBAP games are just $7.99 and up

With home games that cost less than a price of a movie ticket, a game at the DBAP is a steal. And thanks to a large video display, and a state-of-the-art sound system, no matter where you sit you'll be able to see and hear the game.

6. Chow down on $1 concessions on Thursday nights

It may seem silly, but Bulls fans know to look forward to the 6th inning for the choreographed performances of the grounds keeping team! The Diamond Cutters strut their stuff to popular music while also keeping the diamond clear.

Did you know?

The phrase "shooting the bull" and the word "bullpen" both originated in Durham and are related to baseball. "Shooting the bull" refers to spitting chewing tobacco from the Bull Durham tobacco brand which was headquartered in Durham. At the time it was common for baseball players to shoot the bull during games.

The word "bullpen" was derived from the placement of a Bull Durham advertisement in Yankee Stadium behind the pitcher's warmup pen. After a few years, announcers began calling it the bullpen.
