This is Mexican restaurant with a very friendly staff. The menu is quite elaborate and has a few vegetarian items. The portion sizes are on the "fuller" side, so be aware. I tried the Chili Relleno and it was delicious. The margaritas were great also. Enjoy

Tamale Factory is an excellent place for delicious Mexican food and they have wonderful drink specials everyday. I really enjoy the atmosphere that they have created there. I can't wait to have one of those delicious tacos and tamales.

The food was really delicious. Also had the Honey Bee cocktail and it was perfect. The staff was very top notch. I will definitely come back.

I haven’t eaten here but the cocktails are great! I’m a big fan of mezcal and I rarely see it anywhere outside of Mexico. This place has three different kinds! Classic cocktails, seasonal cocktails and tequilas straight up or with a sangrita chaser. Mexican fare and outdoor seating.

A potentially great experience soured by being understaffed and poorly managed. The poor woman working by herself had to manage all the orders by herself and deal with the constantly malfunctioning draft lines. If I were the owner I’d pay for more help to have this place run properly. *Edit* I was pleased to see the response below and I understand this wasn’t their status quo. I’ll come back again as the atmosphere was great and the food superb.

Wow! Tamale Factory serves superb, fresh Mexican food, all made from scratch, including the crema and fresh condiments. They have great beer on tap and my margarita was delicious, refreshing and expertly prepared.

Lovely decor, amazing service, the best quesadillas I’ve had, and the tamales are to die for. Frozen margaritas were legit too. Can’t believe I didn’t discover this gem before!

Tamales are good but more artisan style aka "taste of." My wife is from AZ and prefers La Superior for more authentic comfort food tamales. That said, we fully enjoyed our meal, service was great, and appreciate the contribution to Durham food scene.

This place is awesome! Some of the best food we've had in town lately. The tacos, nachos, appetizers, tamales and desserts are delicious and all the food was made to order. The owner is lovely and gave the highest customer service, the staff as well. This is a must-go on the Durham restaurant scene. Try the margarita with blended fruit added

Great lunch specials! We had a yummy tamale and a big salad with hearts of palm. Salad was fresh and had a great dressing that tasted house made. Everyone was super friendly and the dining room was bright and airy and not too loud. Great for having lunch with a friend. We will be back often!

Really enjoyed this place. Definitely more expensive than many other Mexican restaurants, but they pay attention to the details with the food and it shows. If you are expecting Torreros, it is higher end and you pay for it. Service is exceptionally friendly and welcoming as well. It also has a nice cozy feel to it, but I will say it is kind of a pain to get to because of its location on the side of the building without parking. If you didn't know where it was, it would make it tough just to find. And, they need to think about doing something about the floor when it rains as it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. All this said, the food is really good and I felt worth the money. The pinto beans were some of the best beans I have ever eaten. I am not a tamale expert, but they were great too. We pretty much loved everything we got minus the corn appetizer which was ok.

We've made two visits to this wonderful new Durham business, and came away very impressed both times. First off, they've got the best street tacos in town (don't miss the pork belly, or the Carne asada, or the pastor... OK they're all really good). Really enjoyed the tamales on our previous visit. My wife loved the creative spin on a margarita, and we enjoyed the sangria. Also - it's a really nice, welcoming atmosphere, and the people are exceptionally friendly. The head chef/owner came out and chatted with us both times, and the second time even brought me a couple of samples of things to try (and not by my request - she just goes above and beyond!). This place is a welcome addition to the Duke area restaurant scene.

I absolutely love this place! Great food & great drinks for reasonable prices. The food is fresh and unique and the drinks are creative and delicious!!! While this is a new establishment in the area, you can tell that the owners and employees are invested in making this a fabulous experience for all patrons! I'd highly recommend dining here!
