First time at RPS and I’ll be a repeat customer. I’ve never done a major cut to my hair so this was a new process for me but my stylist made me feel welcomed and also understood this was a big deal for me. I love my new haircut and I’ll totally recommend RPS to anyone looking for a salon.

Rock Paper Scissors is my favorite salon in Durham! I have seen a few different stylists there over the past several years, and they’ve all been great. I want to send a special shout-out to Mashaal, who did my first-ever “curly cut” and my first-ever bangs today! She did an amazing job, and I love my new look. I’ve already booked my next appointment with her. Highly recommend.

Cute salon with good hair products. I am a visitor to town and was desperately in need of a hair color and cut. Skylar helped me out and did a fantastic job. A little pricey, but with natural and ethically sourced products as well as environmentally friendly recycling that they do in their business, it is worth the cost. It takes a community to grow a community!

Skylar is absolutely fantastic. I had gone to a different salon for a big cut (took off about 8-10 inches) and the person did a very sloppy job. My neighbor recommended Rock Paper Scissors and I set an appointment with Skylar.
She listened carefully to my concerns and she walked me through her ideas for how we could fix my haircut. She took her time with the cut and did an outstanding job.
As for the salon, I struggle with social anxiety and sometimes struggle in social settings. I felt very at home and welcomed from the moment I stepped through the door (which is also across the street from easy public parking).

Kara Rogers from Rock Paper Scissors Salon did the hair for the bridal party for my daughter's wedding. She was kind, gentle, attentive and a joy to be around and our hair looked beautiful! Mine lasted all night!! This never happens, people even asked me how my hair still looked good at the end of the night. She took my vision of what I'd like and made it happen, but better!!! Kara was awesome!

After a few lackluster haircuts in the area, I picked Rock Paper Scissors mostly off of a whim and some google reviews like this, and ended up with arguably one of the best cuts of my life. I recently discovered that my hair is much more curly than I realized, and Abigail did a fantastic job of interpreting my vague directions and getting my hair to sit in a way that looks way more natural than I thought was possible. Paid for a haircut, but got loads of advice and great conversation for free. Will definitely be coming back, and would highly recommend to anyone.

Today i went in for a transformational cut with stylist Abigail- her upbeat, kindhearted, and overall extremely comforting demeanor made my hair journey much more exciting and way less anxiety inducing even though things like this can be a bit nerve wracking for some. I showed her inspiration pics for what i wanted my hair to look like and she patiently worked with me to figure out exactly what i wanted and after the service was over i was EXTREMELY satisfied. She did exactly what i hoped for and i left feeling so beautiful and so proud of my hair. Her work is her art and i cannot recommend her as a stylist more. Thank you Abigail!!

BEST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. Will definitely be coming back to R.P.S!! I got a full set of highlights and a cut for my birthday with Abigail and she absolutely ROCKED IT!!! My hair came out exactly how I had hoped and it is so soft and healthy. Plus she was so super friendly and just all around wonderful. Both my daughter and I just got a color and a cut at RPSS. The staff is very friendly and on time. The stylist had great ideas for our hairstyles and did an amazing job. The best haircut ever! My first time at Rock, Paper, Scissors. Overall, great vibe and everyone seemed chill and like they wanted to work there. I got a barber cut from Gavin and could not have been happier. Quick, attentive to detail, and exactly what I was looking for.
My wife referred me to to RPSS and I was excited to find Gavin, who was at Rock's Barbershop before.

I loved coming to RPS and I will miss it now that I've moved out of the area. I originally followed my stylist, Abigail, here, and I cannot say enough good things about her work. She really listens, asks questions, and makes it a discussion to make sure she really knows what you're looking for — plus the results are always great. She really understands my curly hair texture (if you have curly hair you know that this is not a given lol).
Every time I've been to RPS, everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and welcoming, from reception to other stylists working.

Love this place! If you can afford it, you receive some of the best treatment around! I'm a regular with Kales and she always does me right and asks specific questions and checks in throughout cuts to make sure we are headed toward my hair goals. I've also suffered from some pretty difficulty dry/itchy scalp, and though I've tried every product under the sun, nothing has ever helped...until Kales recommended a product and gave me a free sample! Thanks for solving my scalp issues (something multiple dermatologists have failed to do) and doing my do right every time, Kales and RPS!

I’ve been coming to this salon for many years. I’ve relocated cities and still go out of my way to get my hair cut at RPS. I’ve had cuts by a few stylists here, and they are true artists of their craft and SO helpful and friendly. Every visit is a delight and I come out looking incredible to boot!!

I had an appointment with Alex and she was wonderful! Alex did a great job on my hair and spent time giving me tips since I am struggling with day-to-day styling. She showed me ways to style and took the time to make sure I understood—which she didn’t have to! I really appreciated her skills and personality. I can’t wait to come back!
