Walk up counter, quick service, delicious pizza. Kids loved their red sauce pie. Wife and I were equally pleased with the shroom pie w caramelized onions and goat cheese. Cool little nook w toys for the kiddos. Pie crust charred but not overcooked. 9/10

My partner and I absolutely love this place. We get the vegan Barry White almost every time. Last night we went to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary with an early dinner and it was perfect. The two Barry Whites were outstanding, the screwdriver slush was delicious, and the staff were kind and courteous. They really made our short pizza stop special. Thank you! We did see they had vegan cheesecake on the menu but we will have to try it next time.

The food selection and beer selection were great. The server took his time with us and was extremely friendly and courteous as well as the rest of the staff. The food came out quick and was great. Was a great find!

Found after a quick walk downtown waiting for my room to be ready at Unscripted- great find. Wonderful pizza delivered to the table unsliced with a pair of scissors to cut your own and a nice cold beer. Cool friendly space. And very hospitable staff. Will be back

I personally love their pizza. It’s exactly like the pizza I had in Naples and tastes incredibly authentic. Same with the limoncello. I’ve heard people are displeased with how the restaurant is run so many of my friends don’t go here out of principle. But for me, the food is too good to stay away.

Pompieri is my favorite pizza place. Great service, tasty fountain beverages, and the most delicious pizza I have ever had. Their namesake Pompieri Pizza with peppadew peppers is the BOMB!

This is Toros sidekick in this sick and twisted novelty pizza game. Better atmosphere though.

Best place to get a BYO pizza in Durham! Fresh local produce but sauce and cheese imported frm Italy! What could be better!?

I’m originally from the New York area, so I’ve always been particular about my pizza. Since moving to Durham, Pompieri’s has become my one and only pizza stop. Highly recommend the BC Pie!

Absolutely amazing valentine's dinner! 4 courses plus an amuse. Inexpensive for a couple and a relaxing dinner. Service was spot on and perfectly paced, just like enjoying a dinner in Italy. Bravo!!

A Neapolitan pizzeria in a old firehouse with fish aquaculture tanks. What's not to like? On Sundays 4:30 and 6:30 dine Family Style: buy a wristband and get unlimited pizza with soda and a side salad and dessert. Our family had a great time doing that.

The pizza was fresh and authentic as well! They grow their own fresh herbs in store. The customer service is excellent! The over restaurant is clean and colorful. 10/10 would go there every week if I had the funds to do so. 😊

My husband and I had such a positive experience at Pomieri Pizza. We were just visiting for the weekend and were looking for a great spot for pizza with gluten free crust. This place has great pizza and is family friendly. Even though you pay first and then sit without a real server, the staff was attentive and helpful. We would definitely recommend for a quick bite of pizza.

Amazing vegan options, from pizza to sandwiches to dessert! This is my favorite restaurant in Durham. The pizza is incredible. Atmosphere is nice too, but I wish they'd get rid of the sad fish tanks :(

Nice atmosphere and staff are super friendly! And who doesn’t love pizza! They also have a few vegan options or make your own pizza! I would def recommend this place! Plus you use scissors to cut your pizza, pretty dope!

Truthfully I have not eaten their pizza although I've heard it's fantastic. I went with some friends to their annual vegan harvest dinner and wine or beer pairing and it was absolutely delicious. It was six courses of delightfulness and and the owner the chef the sous chef the front and back of house were all fabulous and I will definitely be back soon to sample some vegan pizza!

I really love pizza and Pompieri is the best I’ve ever had. Everyone there is friendly, the space is super cute, and their food is just to die for. Try their signature Pompieri Pizza with Pepperdew peppers and chili oil, you will fall in love. Their changing specials are also always inventive and delicious. And they have community nights where you can eat tons of pizza and meet new people! Such a great place.

Really great handcrafted pizza. The dough they use is really exceptional and have a variety of options with higher end toppings. Counter order. Casual fun space. Offer sandwiches as well as soup and a couple apps. Good spot.

This gem is located in downtown Durham. We went for lunch and ordered the 7" build your own pizza. The pizza was all that I needed in a cloudy rainy day. The crust was crunchy, chewy and airy. The marinara sauce was perfect! The spicy pepperoni made for a nice surprise in each bite. And the fresh basil made me realize next time I make pizza at home is a must! Loved they use Mason jars as a cups. Fresh squeezed lemonade and sweet tea on tap is the best thing ever as well! If you are around the area or coming to visit do stop and enjoy!

If you're looking for a delicious, out of the ordinary, Neapolitan-style pizza dinner experience in Durham this is your place. You walk in and see fish tanks, tomato can lights, fresh herb boxes and a wall of kids' firefighter art. It's very much a local family establishment with a side bar room for those just looking for a quick drink. It's just a short walk from Main St and the general downtown area. There's ample amounts of parking and though the line looks long it goes pretty fast.

All of the pizzas are good (we sampled 5+) and it really just depends on your preferences. I'm on a big arugula kick - so all of the pizzas with arugula as a topping take the cake (pie?) for me. Also, cutting the pizzas with your own scissors is unique and feels fun. We also got a few salads that were really good, particularly because of the tasty dressings.

I love this place! The pizza is simple and amazing with probably the best pizza sauce I've had in years. I cannot recommended it highly enough! The salads we're simple and great, and the soup was also very hearty and satisfying. The bread that came with the soup had a great garlicky crust that complimented the soup perfectly. This is a great place and we can't wait to come back. I'm definitely going to try all of the pizzas they have!

Seriously legit Neapolitan pizza. The crust is chewy and cooked to perfection. Sauce is zesty and really compliments everything perfectly. Great service and solid beer menu on draught.

Went to a special plated dinner service to celebrate cuisine of Italy, was absolutely wonderful. Also, one of the best pizza places around, no questions! Love the uncut pizza and scissors.

The staff are very nice but 2/4 of the pizzas were not good. They were prepared well and the restaurant was clean but the pizzas just did not taste good. The roasted garlic one especially was horrible. The appetisers were very tasty though and they have a cool selection of sodas.

Great environment, delicious pizza, awesome concept. Spacious, family friendly, a little pricey hut worth it. The pizzas are all personal size, hand tossed, oven toasted and fresh ingredients. They have beer, wine, sodas and more! Really great place to go before or after a Bulls game!

I felt that this place was a nice stop to get food. I got a fruit salad with salami. I suggest this place for anyone who has a large party. The food there is pretty good I especially liked the goat cheese. There's not much parking nearby. Also I really enjoyed the environment the fish and plants really added to it. To put icing on the cake the art in there was so fascinating.

Hands down the best pizza I’ve had in NC. It’s a simple sit down restaurant with aquaponic fish tanks in the dining area. The service was quick and friendly. No frills but the pizza was delicious. Thin, soft crust and cheese to die for.

I ate this pizza after a 3.5 hour drive and it's basically the best thing I've ever tasted. Perfect chewy and crispy crust, incredible toppings, and overall worth the trip. Order the BC pie. You will not regret it.

This is a counter order place where you pay and take a number. However you can sit at the bar for full service. I don't quite understand the goldfish tanks instead of a railing for the line? The pork pizza was pretty good but there was not much pork belly on it. I did enjoy the nice roasted garlic taste. Has a nice outdoor seating area if you feel like eating outside.

Nice little pizza joint located in an old fire house. Pizzas are personal-sized (12 inches or so), and use delicious ingredients. Drinks are served in mason jars, which is fun. They also have some good alcoholic options (their margarita was pretty tasty). I would definitely return here.

Finally I have had a good true fire oven cooked pizza with quality and perfection done right. My last visit to a place similar to this was Brix, it was horrible and I still will not go back. You should never see your crust dry anywhere near the center. This place had it covered, and just the right amount of toppings. Great job guys. Bartender was very helpful and friendly. I will be back.

Ten stars. Eleven. This is the best pizza, and best service. Locals are so lucky to live nearby such a great pizzeria! In progress photos only, 'cause it was too good to hesitate for a snapshot!

Food and service was good. Didn't have any straw's for drinks, didn't have any domestic beer, had to ask twice to get enough napkins. Plenty of boxes lined the shelf to the right when you enter but had to take left over food in foil. But food was good.

I really love this place. Their pizzas are beyond good. I ordered the araicini (Fried risotto balls with marinara) , Margherita, and their signature pizza the Pompieri. The flavor on each was really good, and would recommend them all. I am definitely coming back for more. I will have to try some new pizzas.

I love this place! The gluten-free, dairy-free (creamy cashew 'cheese)' pizza was wonderful, and looked like a work of art! (Toppings: fresh basil, mushrooms, farm fresh egg, and chili oil) The salad and polenta with collards were fantastic, too :-) My husband really likes the Drunken Horse pizza

The pizza here is outstanding! So many options to pick from! Always fresh ingredients with the perfect amount of sweetness in the sauce. I love garlic and carmelized onions with mozzarella on my pizza! Mmmmm one of my favorite spots!!

There are two great pizza places in Durham, and Pompieri is one of them! I make sure to stop by everytimr I'm in the area. Every time I visit it's a great experience. Pizzas are artisan, super thin crust. Not your normal blase options. Experiment with what they offer on the menu, it's all excellent and worth it! Make sure the White Florian is one of the pies you order, a must. Local craft beers on tap are always good, too. Plenty of seating, and place has a fun, u ique feel, set in the Durham historic downtown. Great and friendly service, so be sure to give a tip. Then walk around town to burn of the calories, and have an ice cream at the local I e cream shop (which often has a line).

We liked the ordering at the counter when you walk in. There are partitions to distance customers who are masked, when they come in and order, from the tables where customers are eating and not masked. Within minutes we had our beers. There's a small but well chosen menu of craft beers on draft, mostly from local brewery, and they rotate the taps regularly. We ordered a classic margarita and a white pizza with portobello mushrooms and goat cheese to share. Both were delicious. The crust was thin and bubbly with just the right amount of char. I personally prefer the tomato sauce slightly sweeter, but that's just me, I couldn't fault the margarita. I rarely order white pizza as it often is either dry or too rich or greasy with white sauce. This one may be about the best I've had, with roasted garlic and caramelized onion, portobello mushrooms and topped with goat cheese. It was just the right balance and all the flavors came through. You could taste the roasted garlic without it being overpowering, the caramelized had the the tight amount of sweetness to perfectly balance out the goat cheese. And it was a generous amount of goat cheese. I would absolutely come come back for that pizza and can't wait to try some other ones. They are served with scissors to cut. I was hesitant at first, but it works great and it's effortless. Other than the food, the setting is casual but comfortable and inviting in an old building downtown. Last but not least, service was great. Friendly and efficient without being overbearing. The pizzas arrived in under ten minutes.
