I went to this restaurant with some friends for triangle restaurant week. They had the price fixed menu, with a few nice options. I got the salad, which was a good portion, the shrimp and grits which was really warm and comfy, and the chocolate pie. Our waiter was really friendly and came by a lot to check on us. It was clean and had a nice atmosphere.

It was absolutely one of the best meals I've had in a very long time! I got the scallops, green beans, and cheese grits... just wow! The chef sent out a complimentary bean dip prior to our dinner that was delicious! We went our plates back to the kitchen completely clean!

The place is nice, it has a really nice outside area where you can sit if the weather allows. The restaurant has a farm to table model. Our waiter was outstandingly good, he was really engaging, he explained all the dishes and where the produces came from and was very pleasant. I am a vegetarian, we were on a large group so we ordered some appetizers to share, I tried the green tomatoes with goat cheese and they were really great! I also tried the cheese dip that was really good. I ate the veggie lasagna as entree , it was also a good dish but a bit small, I was glad I had eaten appetizers first. But overall the best meal and service I had during my 3 week trip to NC.

I was looking forward to an excellent dinner with the wife after work. Food look very wonderful. But like they say looks can be deceiving. There was no flavor to the food and also the sides were a bit under cooked and cold. Not place if you are looking for a fulfilling meal. Food not worth the price.

I went here for lunch because it had good reviews. I like fish, so I ordered the catfish with collard greens and cheddar grits. The catfish was decent, it was fried, the bottom was sitting in a little water and wet. The top was fried well but was not seasoned. Because of the lack of seasoning, I just figured that senior citizens eat here often. But the collard greens were loaded with vinegar and the cheddar grits...I cannot describe the taste. I just ate the fish and left the sides. The waiter did not one time ask if I was satisfied with the food. He just came and cleared the table. I went to school for hospitality management and love all types of great food but this was not the best I have had... Wasted my money.

Harvest 18 has been excellent quality since its opening and continues that same quality today. I had the chicken salad sandwich and potato salad for lunch and it was delicious. I will have to say that the vegetable lasagna that my wife had was even better as it was truly something special. I have never had a bad meal here and do not believe I ever will. Thank you for your fine quality of food! Looking forward to coming back.

After a power outage occured at the restaurant that my wife I were planning to go to for a "Date night", Harvest 18 came to the rescue to salvage the night. We had a tight schedule and lost a lot of time and were looking for restaurant with fast service and great food and they were perfect choice! Service was great, Loved the Artichoke dip and loved the Chicken and gravy. The catfish wasn't my wife's favorite but she definitely wants to visit again to try something different since everything else was good. Definitely recommend for those looking for a great meal, nice atmosphere and fast and quality service.

Love this place and lots of vegan options. The food was fantastic. I went there with friends and liked it so much that I returned with my Dad the next night. I went both time for dinner but really want to checkout brunch the next time I am in town.

A modest little place in a strip mall, Harvest 18 presented a great meal. I had their spectacularly delicious, buttery she-crab soup, and an equally fabulous shrimp, scallop and vegetable special. They use many locally-sourced ingredients, and the chef balances seasonings well. The care used in preparing, finishing and plating was apparent. The have a good variety of liquors available at the bar. I had a Macallan, neat with a splash, and recieved a healthy pour. My dining companion had fish and chips. The breading of the flounder was wonderfully unique, and the fries were well done. I highly recommend this little restaurant, and I sent compliments to the kitchen. Yum!

Harvest 18 in Durham, NC uses local fresh ingredients from farmers around the area! The menu is focused on fresh ingredients available and is chef-driven by Jason and David. Their southern dishes are so good! The pork shank is roasted for 12 hours and falls off the bone. Loved their shrimp and grits which has locally caught shrimp. Their wood-fire grilled meatloaf has a house made red pepper jelly and is one of their most popular dishes! We spoke with Chef David about the dishes and there’s some exciting things coming in the future!

Wow, amazing place I feel like I just happened to find. Our server (Eli) was fantastic, fresh food, great atmosphere- we will be back! The manager was super nice and checked in multiple times. The experience was so great I looked like a hero to my guest :-). Thanks for coming thru with an amazing experience!

Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed. The interior had a tinge of uncleanliness and felt a bit like the decor was from the 70s. They played 70s, 80s, and 90s music the entire time so that didn't help with the ambiance. The service was pretty mediocre despite only having 3 tables seated. The bread was fantastic but the steak and salmon were pretty meh and not worth the price. I was hoping it would feel like a nice date spot but left much to be desired.

They are a good restaurant as an everyday restaurant. However, there's also nothing that makes the restaurant special that wants to make me drive 30 minutes. The drinks are very good however there are places that make it better. The fish and chips were fish and chips. However, if you live in the neighborhood and want a good restaurant with good drinks this is definitely a place that should be included.

We had a great time at Harvest 18! It was such a welcoming environment. The drinks and dessert were both fantastic as well. Haven't been to a restaurant where the service was this good in a while. The general manager Javier was the sweetest and great to chat with! Highly recommend going!

It was okay, the only thing making it almost worth the money is all the ingredients being locally sourced. My partner had the shrimp and grits, which were a soupy consistency and only a few shrimp. On top of that, they weren't hot, which is important for grits. I had the veggie pasta, which was okay. Wasn't anything I'd crave again for the price. Great, friendly service though.

This was the very first restaurant I went to when I moved here and it is still one of my favorite restaurants in durham. It’s my go-to place when meeting up with friends or family for a meal because it has a great vibe and anyone can find something they’ll like on the menu. The food is always delicious and the fruity butter spread they bring out with the bread is amazing!

My fiance and I have been going here since they opened and have always had a great experience. Friendly atmosphere, great food where the chef is allowed to try new things. Some of the dishes may seem standard for the area but there are also new twists on old recipes. Great draft beers - not a large assortment but adequate

For either takeout or eating at a lovely (and appropriately distanced) outdoor table you won't find better in the area! They are operating on a limited menu but that means what is available is fresh, seasonal, and fantastic! The wood-fired meatloaf in particular is great, and the sides are to die for. Few restaurants execute Southern staples like collard greens so well. Weekend brunch menus in particular are excellent. Their crab cake Benedict with heirloom tomatoes is one of the most delicious versions of the classic dish I've ever tried!

What a great find! I will be returning as soon as I can and will be bringing people. Brian, our server was super helpful, friendly and made great recommendations. My friend and I split the vegan butternut squash tamales and the chicken sandwich. I felt like I was on the food network saying things like "Perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, the layering of flavors and textures..." Executive Chef Ty gave us a warm oatmeal cookie as we were leaving, because they just came out of the oven. This was an excellent value, great setting and now more than ever I was glad to support locally sourced food, farmers and a business.

We stopped by for lunch and this place is amazing! The service was good, the location is neat and clean but the food was fantastic. The she crab soup was excellent, light but flavorful. The tomato sampler was so fresh and tasty. The food overall was great. We ordered two desserts and the server brought out cookies for the kids separately, which was very thoughtful. The banana pudding was tasty as well as the blueberry panacota. Overall a wonderful lunch, glad we found this place!

This places on describable. The food is so so amazing. They have different specials every day, I have never eaten anything so good in a restaurant before. Their specials are always amazing. Love love love the food here. I have been several times and keep going back. The services also excellent. If I could give it 10 Stars I certainly would.

Great experience. Food was delicious, we had the pork shank and ribeye. Steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. Pork shank was excellent as well. The braised collards were a great side. Waiter was very informative and attentive. We will definitely be returning.

We've been going to Harvest for years now and are so happy that they continue to offer great food and hospitality despite the pandemic. We were helped immediately when we parked in curbside-pickup and our order was fresh, hot, and delicious as always. This restaurant deserves extra support to help them get through covid, so we can't wait to order again soon!

My family and I truly enjoyed our dinner this evening. Their appetizers of heirloom tomatoes and corn fritters with corn relish was so fresh. We had vegetarian pasta, crispy chicken sandwich and the ribeye as our entrees. Everything was hot and cooked perfectly. Staff very friendly and were right on the spot when drinks ran out.

First time I dined here, it was with my wife on our anniversary (on a solid recommendation). It was not over-the-top extravagant, but their execution was exceptional. Tried-and-true flavor profiles were perfectly cooked and assembled; nothing was over-/under-done or seasoned. We thoroughly enjoyed our respective steak and seafood dishes. Service was friendly and prompt without being overbearing. I do still think about the prime rib steak. The only miss for me was the dessert menu, but not worth docking a point over. For mid-range price, this was tremendous delivery, and worth every penny. I also appreciate their dedication to the farm-to-table model, and focus on bringing home-style Southern dishes up a few levels. Worth your while.

My wife loved 18 Seaboard and still misses it to this day. Hitting a Jason Smith restaurant for Valentine's day was a no brainier. Harvest 18 is not 18 Seaboard. The view of the Michael's in the strip mall across the way let's you know that. But the She-crab soup is still transcendent. The mid rare steak was exactly that and seasoned within an inch of it's life. It may not have all of the ambiance, but the service is well above average and you won't even care because the food is just that good.

The food was good if a little under seasoned. We had to wait a very long time for it which probably explains why one of our appetizers was so cold. We sent it back and it was still cold the second time. That said, the manager tried hard to make the rest of the meal correct and she did. I think the restaurant has a chance to be good/better but they were overwhelmed on a Saturday night during restaurant week. I would try it again just on a less busy night with that in mind. We had the pork shank and filet mignon for restaurant week. They were quite good. The greens were excellent.

Farm to table style restaurant. Nice ambiance for groups or a date. Food was very good, especially the wood fire grilled sirloin. Would definitely recommend. Service and staff were also great.

We went to Harvest 18 during restaurant week and it was delicious! Food, service, and atmosphere was perfect! The owner was super friendly and came by our table a few times. I had the tuna and my brother had the filet and they were both incredibly delicious. The grilled green tomatoes with the balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese...so simple but so delicious! Can't wait to go back!

This place serves as the perfect downtown destination- comfortably upscale (you could walk in wearing jeans or a suit and fit in just fine). The food was incredible and came out in a timely fashion coupled with attentive service (our waitress was very willing to give suggestions of the menu). This place is a great lunch spot or perfect for a romantic/special dinner

Not many businesses think about saving our carbon footprint, by not placing plastic disposable cutlery unless asked for. Also, the cake was pretty delicious. 😁

The hostess asked "How can I help you?" When we entered. This really threw me and I asked her to repeat herself. Other than that it was great. I had airplane chicken because I thought the name was funny and it was so good. My companion had catfish which I dislike and did not try, but he said it was very good.

The service was okay, but I think the kitchen was having an off night. Ordered shrimp and grits. Shrimp was way overcooked to the point of being a little chewy and the bacon crumbles were more like coals. Bread came late in the meal as well, I had already finished my entre. I've been here before and had a much better experience though. I might recommend coming on a weekday when they are less busy and the kitchen can focus better.

Incredible food. Like, amazing. It's farm to table and our waitor was super knowledge about the whole process. He gave fantastic recommendations and was super patient while I asked a zillion questions. The manager stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The food timing was flawless. The beer list is impressive and hyper local, plus the cocktails and wine looked great. Pictures don't do it justice. What an all around perfect experience. Will definitely be back.

I was expecting more of a fast casual ambiance because of the location, but Harvest 18 is now our go-to for a dinner date. The decor is casual, but the food is DIVINE and the service has consistently been very good also. I find the pricing very reasonable for the quality of the food, especially considering they make an effort to serve mostly locally sourced products.

The atmosphere At this place was amazing. We went of Mother’s Day. The food was delicious and so good. The owner came by and chatted with us which was so refreshing. People now a days don’t even bother anymore. Very family like place at least they made us feel very welcomed. Would definitely recommend it to anybody!!

Stopped in for a business lunch. Thought the food was good and pricing was acceptable, though I could see some not being satisfied by the price. I had the shrimp and grits that had very well seasoned shrimp and fully cooked grits, but the sauce was a little too heavy on the oil or butter. I think most people would be ok with this meal, but it isn't an over-the-top type home run. Would be OK with eating here again just wouldn't go out of my way.

Delicious local food! Really enjoyed this restaurant for its artful menu and local food sourcing. The cinnamon cranberry margarita felt slightly ahead of season, but still delicious. Who doesn’t like free bread, too? I liked the outdoor seating and comfy chairs.

Service was great. Seafood pizza was okay. I'd say it would have been better with a creamy sauce rather than pesto. NC style BBQ plate was tasty. The interior is small and loud. Thankfully, they have outdoor seating. But make sure you take advantage of their complimentary bug repellent spray. Otherwise you'll be eaten alive by mosquitoes while you're dining.
