Fairview Dining Room

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with four courses, chocolate-covered strawberries, and piano music at the Fairview Dining Room, the top-rated restaurant at The Washington Duke Inn. When you dine on the premises, you can also take advantage of a special Valentine’s Day overnight room rate. Four courses for $79 per person

Duke University Wind Symphony

Waltz your way through Valentine’s Day weekend at the Duke Wind Symphony’s Viennese Ball on February 11. There will be food, music, and plenty of dancing at this formal event, which features a live waltz orchestra and polka band. Proceeds benefit the Wind Symphony. $20 for two tickets

Masquerade Ball

For comedy, open mic, and dancing, attend the Masquerade Valentine’s Ball on February 11. Brave singles can even participate in a 2017 version of the dating show Love Connection. Childcare is available. Early bird tickets start at $20

The Scrap Exchange

Durham’s creative reuse arts center hosts Upcycled with Love: Valentine’s Day Card and Gift Making on February 11. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can craft cards, paper flowers, leather keychains, and jewelry at this family friendly event. $10 per person
